Oh gosh, I didn’t realize this was a NEW thread that was almost identical to a previous one lol. Methinks it’s just the same person who wants to strangle all pits and pit lookalikes starting these constantly. |
Terrible. Are there pets-free flights or are all flights allowing four legged? |
+1 I approve of airlines trying to crack down on ESAs and bogus service dogs. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This. But did you die?!! |
According to... you, grand high adjudicator of all things on the anon board? My seizure alert dog is "part pit". That's "a true service dog", in case you didn't already know. So when you see us out in public, or on a plane, minding our own business, feel free to mind your own. |
"Pit bull" is to dogs what "Karen" has become to women: a meaningless epithet tossed off by ignorant people who aren't capable of having a nuanced conversation grounded in any sort of cultural awareness. The sort of person using these terms is often unhinged. The whiter they are, the greater the likelihood of MAGAish affiliations Hating pit bulls also reeks of racism, as the cultures predominantly stereotyped as having pit bulls are often non-white. Just like "Karen" in its current configuration* is misogynist. *- this used to have a specific meaning about an out-of-line, overly-entitled white woman, often middle-aged, minding Black folks' business and calling the police to start trouble because she was a racist POS person. |
So I'm curious... are you in support of people bringing their pet (non-service) dogs into WalMart and other grocery/retail stores despite rules against it? This happens occasionally at our local stores and the workers usually never confront the owner, so the person just completes their shopping with their pet in the shopping cart basket. Do you approve of this type of rule-breaking? Or do you not care? Or do you think that the store employees should enforce the "no-pet" ban? |
Of course I will. So long as your dog is polite and well-trained. If your dog is anxious, panting, whining, pulling at the leash, etc -- I will likely not say a word, but I will internally judge you as a poor dog handler. |
I'm in favor of people in shared spaces following the rules that are designed to allow everyone's fair use. Pet owners bringing their pets into pet-free spaces are violating those rules. Frequently, the poorly-trained pet will behave in a way that makes it harder for those of us who have legitimate service animals to maintain access to those spaces (or public spaces in general). If I saw that, I'd stop shopping there. It's not worth confronting a bad owner, who will have all sorts of excuses about their animal, how hard they've got it, etc. I suppose you could try talking to a manager, but if it has happened more than once, they're probably aware and already doing what they're willing to do about it. I don't get paid to police other mothers' children in public spaces. If what you're doing is a threat to me and mine, that's one thing. If I simply don't agree and/or don't like it, I can vote with my feet and my wallet and take my business elsewhere. |
Sounds like a miserable way to live, but okay. At least you got the first part right! |
Not at all. I think it would be miserable to have a poorly trained dog. But you do you. |
My dog is professionally-trained, and you probably won't ever see her, so go off with your judgmental self. But, for your own mental well-being, you might want to unclench and detach a little, especially when it comes to things you don't control. |
So there you have it... your dog is professionally trained and would be well-behaved in public, right? So I would see your dog and think "what a nice dog" and go about my merry way. |
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHABAHAHAHAHABHAHAHAHAHAHAHA please don't ever EVER call anyone else unhinged. |
According to this thread, (stupid) people would see OMG PIT BULL ON TEH PLANE!!111! and die of an aneurysm. She's a lovely dog. If you like well-mannered heckin' good doggos, you'd love her. I sure do. She's saved my life twice already. |
