In the present context the poster is indicating that over time it has been increasingly more difficult to gain entrance into Boston College. For the majority of colleges, including Boston College, Early Decision confers a benefit to applying in that manner. And the underclass dorms on BC's Upper/CoRd are next door to the dining hall/cafe/starbucks/mail room/bookstore, etc. Can walk the entire campus in 15 minutes so not sure what's "really far away." November was gorgeous in Boston this year. Different kids like different things. Go figure.

BC is NOT a top school. There is no surprise ED acceptances from above avg private kids. Top private kids use BC as a backup in RD, then go to T15 /ivy instead

Not at our school. The kids that did ED and ED 2 had above 90 averages (Big 3) and above 1500 SATs.

You are so annoying on this thread. We did not apply to any southern schools. 3.7 at a top school/Big 3 is actually a 4.0 plus at any other place. Admissions is aware of that. For the record not sure what GPA chart you are using but a 3.7 is not a B+ it is actually a 90 and above so A, A-....

BC has a strong sibling preference, that might account for some kids with slightly lower stats being accepted. It did at our private.

BC is NOT a top school. There is no surprise ED acceptances from above avg private kids. Top private kids use BC as a backup in RD, then go to T15 /ivy instead

In case it is helpful to know, there are a lot of excellent and well-rounded students who do not get admitted to BC. So it sounds a bit insensitive to write that "BC is NOT a top school."
