Say what?. BC is less than 1% Jewish and only 5% Black or African American. That's the lowest percent of blacks at any institution I've heard about with maybe the exception of BYU. https://datausa.io/profile/university/boston-...Pacific%20Islanders. |
That's ^^ in reference to the pp above in the thread who claimed "absolute diversity at every level" at BC |
DP. There was one peaceful protest and it was one hour long and only had 50 kids attend. I also have kids at BC and they are very in the know. |
I think several schools dropped to that area post SC ruling. I think Tufts went down to like 4% black. |
Does your black student want to go to a Catholic university? Are they Catholic? Does your Jewish student want to go to a Catholic school? This is the real question. |
The African-American population at BU, Northeastern, Tufts all at or below 5%. |
Might as well add Amherst to the list if they’re looking to eschew blackness |
5% black students is the average for top colleges. |
Pre Supreme Court decision Ivies hovered around 8-10% (Dartmouth e exception). 8% was the desired magic number since the ‘90’s. |
It's an observation. Based on 1 kid and his friend group. And "diversity" used with the common dictionary meaning, including geographic, socio economic, religious and majors. Specifically note is that most of the kids are white. No one ever claimed that BC had a 25%+ black student population. |
