My freshman is loving BC! He was an ED1 admit. I've offer my thoughts but I don't want pp to march in and tell me how I'm wrong. |
Congrats to all! |
BC's Early Decision acceptance rate is almost at the same rate as its Regular Decision rate from 2010.
Unreal. And congratulations to all those admitted!!! |
I don't understand what part is "unreal" but agree Congrats to newcomers! |
I hope that your child lands in a place where wonderful things happen for them. BC also has a strong graduate school with LOTS of scholarship money. I went there for the price of one course, and the rest were covered by grants. Your child may wind up with a free degree in a few years, if they still want to go there. Sounds like they worked really hard and have a passion for what they do. Good luck to them. |
Congrats to all.
My 18 year old self still wishes I had gone there. |
"Unreal" is often used as a slang expression to denote something hard to believe. For example, if you attend a football match and the corner kick spins into the goal to win FIFA in the last seconds, one might say, "that was an unreal goal!" In the present context the poster is indicating that over time it has been increasingly more difficult to gain entrance into Boston College. For the majority of colleges, including Boston College, Early Decision confers a benefit to applying in that manner. Cetirus paribus, it was easier to gain admission to Boston College as a regular decision applicant in 2010 than it is an early decision applicant in 2024. Hope that helps and have a great day! |
Wow. NP here, but who peed in your cheerios? That was unnecessarily rude. |
Seriously. Also, if you are going to be pretentious enough to use Latin phrasesin your posts, at least spell them correctly (ceterus not cetirus). |
I've seen responses similar to this recently. I think it's someone practicing their AI and this is the AI response. |
Same. I'm embarrassed to admit the college I chose over BC. |
LOL! Nope, just my unfiltered reaction to someone being rude, pretentious, and snide for no apparent reason other than to put someone else down. And this is my first comment in months, if not all year, so I guess I’m not the only one. |
It's the impact of the Southern Schools. Who wants to go someplace cold and dark and your freshman dorm is really far away vs. warm and sunny into November and warm and sunny again at the end of February? |
I heard of two people getting waitlisted at BC this year during ED. I didn’t know that was an option, I thought it was just accept, defer, or reject. Probably something given to legacy as a soft rejection? It’s all so ambiguous. |
It doesn’t even necessarily show what you think it does. All colleges were easier to get into in 2010. So BC’s ed admission rate being similar to its 2010 reg admission rate might mean it is easy to get into BC as long as you apply via ed. |
