The PP you are replying to is, in fact, stating facts. You might be in denial about those facts, but what she posted is the truth. Perhaps you should do some research into what she wrote to validate or disprove it. |
People are calling out the hypocritical nature of the so-called Christians. If you don't like hearing the truth, then maybe look in the mirror about things you purport to support. |
The topic of this thread undermines the bolded. In fact, it is Christians who want to impose their Christianity on to everyone else. See the problem? |
No. I know the anti-theists are out in force posting their opinions and agreeing with other anti-theist posters posts, but just because you all have the same opinion, doesn’t make other people’s opinions invalid. I don’t need to prove anyone’s opinion wrong, nor do I want to. People are allowed to have their own opinions. I don’t think I have to force everyone to agree with me. You should understand that and adopt that attitude. It’s really important to accept that other people will think differently than you and have different opinions than you do. |
it doesn't matter. The underlying issue is that it is a religious artifact that has no place being displayed in a public school. |
People are calling an entire state and religion rude names. That’s on them. If they feel like that’s how they should conduct themselves, I don’t agree with their behavior. |
You have the right to read and pray to the Bible. You don't have the right to post parts of the Bible in a public school. This shouldn't be hard. Would you be ok with excerpts of the Qoran or Buddhist writings on the walls? |
That’s your opinion. LA has passed a law. We already know they will be sued. It going to be up to the courts. We all have different opinions. It will be years before this issue is adjudicated. |
Are they lying? Is Louisiana at the bottom of just about every metric when it comes to children and education? How is that disparaging? It is the truth. |
The very courts stacked by Leonard Leo/Opus Dei and the Christo-fascists. We see what is happening. |
I know! They really think they can just slide this one past people! |
People don’t pray to the Bible. They pray to God. I don’t control l any state’s law. I don’t control state law regarding religion or educational issues. If my district/state said to put x, y, and z posters up, I would do so. LA passed a law about displaying the 10 Commandments. It’s not up to individual teachers to make decisions like that, or to pick and choose which laws they follow. I don’t think you understand how tightly regulated everything regarding education is, in most states. |
Christianity doesn’t teach those things, the right wingers have perverted Christianity to teach those things. Prosperity gospel says if you’re poor, that’s God’s punishment for you sucking. Bootstraps! “*uck your feelings!” Those who are Republican and “Christian” are the exact type of worshipper Jesus talked against. You guys are the opposite in every way of what Jesus wanted us to do. You may claim his mantle, but you are wrong in all regards. You see the least among us and you knock them down, kick them in the stomach and rub dirt in their eyes. And all that is apart from the fact that we are supposed to have religious freedom in this country because our founders knew what established religion does. You… do not. You’re happy for fascism to show up and establish a state religion, knock women back to the dark ages and thump your chest. The commandments are a religious artifact and have no business in a school outside of class that discusses them in a literature or cultural way. |
There are millions of Christians in the United States who do not vote for republicans and are not conservative. You are ranting and unhinged. This thread is about a law that La passed, not about attacking Christians. I never fail to hear hateful, intolerant comments from people who call Christians hateful and intolerant. You have a problem with Christianity, and I don’t care if you do. You don’t have to like Christianity or Christians. But you have no right to tell people how they live their life or practice their religion. You are obsessed with judging people you have never met a single time in your life and judging them evil. |
Bronze age myths and other religions remain a giant pox on the planet and people need to enter the 21st century or we are doomed as a nation to theocracy. But since you don't agree that's how I should conduct myself, I'll be quiet from now on, of course. Maybe ad that to number 11 on the poster. |
