If you can't juggle or use a rebounder without letting the ball drop constantly, you can't have great first touch with anything not already on the ground. To say otherwise is ludicrous and showing lack of knowledge on the sport which parts of your body are you using during the game differently than what it takes to juggle? |
Cavan Sullivan is 5ft 7in happy now? |
Are we talking about soccer players or American football field goal kickers. LOL |
LOL. This means that this player can only control passes that are rolling on the ground. |
Please keep your kids and yourself in American sports. |
|
Cavan Sullivan in the same conversation with those players is unfair to a 14 year old

| OMG. Parents with lead-footed DCs are justifying size/speed over technical skills, speed of play and IQ. Unbelievable. |
Thanks, I am with you! |

Everyone knows that all of the BEST soccer players in the WORLD are all the big, fast, strong "athletic" type of players - not skillful technical players with high soccer IQ.
Raw physicality FTW This is why we will always be the best in the world! USA! USA! USA! |
But but if only this fill in the blank nfl linebacker wanted to play soccer we would dominate everyone. |
If we're talking about he best soccer players in the world, they are BOTH (skilled and athletic). |
The best soccer players in the world are big fast strong athletic players with technical skills and high soccer IQ. It's not either or. But that's not the question that was asked. The question that was asked is about 11 year olds. If you don't have a big strong fast kid with excellent skills, so you have to choose between these three 11 year olds Kid A: Big strong fast athletic and new to soccer so limited technical skills or soccer IQ Kid B: Big strong fast athletic and has been playing awhile but skills are still limited Kid C: Smaller, weaker kid with strong technical skills Which one do you pick? I'd say that Kid A is the one most likely to make varsity and eventually play in college if someone believes him in. But Kid C might be the one that helps you win this year in U12. So, it depends on coach's priorities. |
| Again, this confirms the 2018 Ballon D’Or winner and one of the baddest ballers of all time (hint it’s not Messi) would not make it the US under this criteria. |
My favorite player! The Croatian wizard. |
Except that Modric and Messi are both fast and athletic on top of having brilliant skills, same as with every single player in all the top leagues in the world. Even OP’s extremely overly simplistic question doesn’t ask about a kid’s height. |
