She should have written a book about being a Maret parent…although even fewer people would read it. |
The bio says the author is an alum of a private school in Washington DC- obviously Sidwell. It’s published by Penguin Randomhouse so obviously a “real” writer- did you ever consider it’s a pen name for someone who has written other things? |
The Ousmane character is Mamadou, no? |
There was an art teacher named Percy at SFS back in the 80’s and 90’s |
There are also Maret alum whose kids went to or attend Sidwell currently. It is not a big deal, parents send their kids to the school that is the best fit. |
he was the BEST! |
Was he better than Ms. B who currently teaches ceramics at Sidwell? She was made to be an art/ceramics teacher! My daughter LOVES her ceramics classes, and she’s not particularly artsy. |
S/he wishes. It was “Published by Alcove Press” and apparently edited by an ESL editor and not a very good one |
😂 |
💯 |
The HoS in the book…sounds like Bryan but names after Earl Harrison right? He was not a slick salesman lol more like absentee ghost |
They will never be done with this fad. |
They are sold out at Politics and Prose |
Overheard at P&P this morning: Customer: I need three copies of a book called "it's a privilege just to be here." Employee: That's on our local authors table. [Walks over.] We have two copies here... looks like these are our last two, we do have a lot more coming in. We'd like to leave one copy out? Customer heads towards registers with one copy. |
this. And written by someone who went there years ago… dates info and setting. I don’t get the big deal. |
