No. There are literally zero “athletic scholarships” for division 2 and 3 college sports. Although a hell of a lot of people and their parents will straight up lie about getting one. They are 100% lying. And they should always be called out on this lie. |
A skinny bimbo former college student-athlete with a joke degree is more than enough to enter an “email job” $75K to start career or something in sales where sky is the limit. |
I'm the one who asked. I didn't know who she was when I opened the thread. I googled her. I don't follow American football. |
First of all, WHY should they be called out? For what purpose? Second, I’m pretty sure schools just offer “academic” scholarships to kids they want on their teams (regardless of the athlete’s academic prowess). i.e. it’s still an athletic scholarship even if the school pretends it’s something else. |

And the D3 answer:
Division III colleges do not offer athletic scholarships, focusing instead on providing a well-rounded college experience that balances academics and athletics. The emphasis is on creating an environment where student-athletes can engage fully in their educational pursuits without the sport being the sole focus. Despite the absence of athletic scholarships, many Division III athletes receive financial aid, with around 75% benefiting from some type of aid, whether need-based or merit-based. This ensures that student-athletes can still find ways to make college more affordable [oai_citation:1,Can Division III Give Athletic Scholarships? | North Central College](https://www.northcentralcollege.edu/news/2021/09/08/can-division-iii-give-athletic-scholarships). Financial aid at Division III institutions is often distributed based on academic achievement, leadership qualities, and financial need, among other factors. This approach allows colleges to support good students and athletes equally, without distinguishing between the two. It's not uncommon for Division III student-athletes to secure full tuition scholarships or nearly full tuition based on their high school GPA and SAT/ACT scores. The financial aid packages are designed to make education accessible and affordable, ensuring that the focus remains on the long-term benefits of a college education, including quality career opportunities and personal development, rather than just the athletic experience [oai_citation:2,Division III Scholarships (But Not Athletic Scholarships)](https://therecruitingcode.com/division-iii-scholarships-but-not-athletic-scholarships/). For student-athletes and their families considering Division III schools, it's important to explore all financial aid options, including academic scholarships, merit awards, and need-based aid. Engaging in the application and financial aid process at multiple institutions can help families understand the potential costs and financial support available, making it easier to find a school that fits both academic and financial needs. |
