Bullis early admit round looks good.

It looks…ok. So far, Bullis isn’t having the results GDS has right now.

Well, Bullis isn’t GDS, so there’s that. As a Bullis family, we are incredibly happy that there is a large range of colleges and universities they are accepted to and it says that they are willing to challenge those who need the challenge and support those who need the support.

I don’t know about a large range. These are all top schools.

Bucknell University - 4 admits (includes 3 Division I athletes)
Boston College - 2 admits
Johns Hopkins University - 2 admits (includes 1 Division I athlete)
University of Pennsylvania - 2 admits
Boston University - 1 admit
Colgate University - 1 admit

Davidson College - 1 admit
Dickinson College - 1 admit
Duke University - 1 admit
Georgetown University - 1 admit
New York University - 1 admit
Pitzer College - 1 admit
Princeton University - 1 admit
Skidmore College - 1 admit
Tufts University - 1 admit
University of Richmond - 1 admit
Washington University in St. Louis - 1 admit

I wouldn’t refer to this as a list of top schools. I would call this a tiny number of top schools, but mostly a list of safeties.

Whitman is an exceptional school. It’s a W school; it’s not like comparing some random public.

It is a random public.

Our HS is doing awful this year. Our kid was above a sea of green in SCOIR for the past 4 years — nobody close to his scores/grades rejected at his first choice in the past. Totally shocked.

He’s hearing similar from classmates in this early round.

Maybe his recs weren't sellar or essay or extracurriculars didn't stand out among the other applicants with similar scores. Scores aren't the only thing that get you in- they just get you into the pile that are actually considered. Sorry for your DC, but I'm sure he'll have some great choices in the spring.
