Did you see those headlines about Neanderthal dna being a (possible) reason for us earlybirds? Fascinating.

No, but I want to learn more!

I am Russian so I would really enjoy discussing The Americans even if I am not that knowledgeable.
I think they captured the Soviet details really well (though I was 14 when the USSR collapsed).
I really enjoyed that show and how they didn’t just engage in Russia hating.

There is a really cool discussion on Reddit about the Americans where they discuss how Philip and Elizabeth would have weathered the break up of the Soviet Union and what a “reunion” show twenty years later would look like.

Thanks, I will check it out!

also,
*Japanese culture
*time and time travel
*reasons why women's shirts get holes near the bottom (not countertops, not belts!)
*cooking
*class in American culture
*the heyday of gangsta rap (esp boom bap)

I am interested in class and I like books and movies about it.
The Great Gatsby, Frasier - very different but all about class
I am not from the U.S. fwiw

YES! I’m the “Man in the High Castle”/Kate Atkinson poster on this thread and I would also LOVE to talk about feelings all of the time. I’m so intrigued by human behavior and interpersonal dynamics.

I found Jonathan Franzen books to be great in this regard

I'm the one who posted this and I've read some of his stuff but it's been a while. Will check him out again, thanks
