I am Russian so I would really enjoy discussing The Americans even if I am not that knowledgeable.
I think they captured the Soviet details really well (though I was 14 when the USSR collapsed).
I really enjoyed that show and how they didn’t just engage in Russia hating.

There is a really cool discussion on Reddit about the Americans where they discuss how Philip and Elizabeth would have weathered the break up of the Soviet Union and what a “reunion” show twenty years later would look like.

Watch the movie Chasing Amy for a casual pop primer before digging into more academic and technical discussion.

Beats taste like dirt smells.

Refined dirt. All the flavor and nutrition with none of the grit.

Anonymous wrote:This is weird but think a lot about the series “Man in the High Castle” and Kate Atkinson‘s book “Life After Life”. With the former, I think about what life would be like if the US had lost World War II. With Atkinson’s book I think about how small things can change the trajectory of our lives. I could talk about time jumping/time travel until I lost my voice LOL. I don’t know anyone else like this. I’m a 51 year old married woman

I was coming on here to say this. I love alternate histories!

+1 Prime has a good catalog of shows and movies.

I also love disaster documentaries.

World War I. WWII gets all the glory and attention. I’m glad to see that changing a little bit, with some good movies in recent years.

I’m fascinated by war novels, generally, but especially WWI.
