Israel on Campus Coalition (ICC) is offering $250 for college students to attend the Pro-Israel rally on 11/14 in Washington, DC. The rally is expected to be one of the largest pro-Israel rallies in history. The rally is sponsored by the Jewish Federations of North America and the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.

To get reimbursed for travel expenses, students just need to fill out the brief form below. Again, ICC is offering $250 per student to attend the rally in Washington, DC.

Come on Jeff, how biased can you be. Of course travel to the “free Palestine” protest was subsidized too: https://indyliberationcenter.org/answerindiana/indy-to-dc-national-march-free-palestine/

Curious where you are getting your anti-Israel memes to disseminate on your website …

These are not the same things. Your link offers a discounted ticket. No stipend money or anything. The link I posted offers $250 plus reimbursement for travel. What I posted is not a "meme". It is an article from crownheights.info website.

Why can't you engage in honest discussion? You can offer any number of justifications for the $250 payments that would be reasonable. But, instead you make the ridiculous suggestion that a $250 payment plus reimbursed travel expenses is the same as a discounted bus ticket. You aren't even making an effort to be serious.

And pray tell how did you come to be perusing the Crown Heights jewish website? Because you’re looking for fake news to amplify on your website. There are multiple places online you can find that talk about subsidizing attendance at the pro-Palestine protest yet you choose to ignore that and pretend the Jewish supporters are doing something dishonest by doing the exact same thing.

I get the argument that the massacres of 7 October meets legal obligations for self-defence and with the required level of proportionality.

But as countless images of children pulled from the rubble and the number of Palestinians killed climbs above 10,000, that argument is becoming weak

There are dcum posters who still believe that Israel can do no wrong, and any suggestions otherwise is a sign of antisemitism.

Good luck with the march

I am starting to think that was Hama's strategy. They don't care about Palestinians. They wanted the world to see Israel killing civilians. In ages past, the casaulties of Israel's actions would not be immediately obvious and most would support Israel defending itself against an aggressor. Now in this age of instant images, it's a different story and Israel is in a tough spot. Hamas knows this and this is now the war strategy of the 21 century: use your own people as fodder to win hearts and minds.

100% agree. The entire point of the terror raid was to goad Bibi into an emotional over-response and to draw Israeli troops into urban and tunnel warfare, where they will get bogged down and killed. It also creates an opportunity for a northern invasion by Hezbollah.

Hamas murders Palestinians who dare to raise even the slightest voice of opposition to Hamas. As soon as Hamas won election in 2007, they murdered all the Gazan members of Fatah and other opposition parties.

If you are Gazan but not part of Hamas, you are disposable. Hamas is actively killing civilians who are trying to flee south to Gaza City.

The only people killing civilians in Gaza are the Israelis. Israeli do not view other people as human.

This is plainly untrue. I’m only responding here because it is either baffling that you don’t know that Hamas is also killing Gazans, or you are such a Hamas fan that you don’t believe it. Or, of course, the obvious one from your language, full of such hatred against Israelis that you can’t see the truth. Which one, please?

Palestinians dying due to Hamas using them as human shields, firing rockets and launching attacks from the midst of populated civilian infrastructure, dying due to Hamas continuing to fight while people are trying to evacuate, dying due to being caught in the crossfire by Hamas, dying due to misfired Hamas rockets crashing on them, dying due to their building collapsing into a underground Hamas tunnels and fortifications and so on - Hamas is ALSO fully complicit in each and every one of those deaths. Hamas is responsible for killing thousands of Palestinian civilians in this conflict.

You need a pro Palestinian rally.

There was a Palestinian rally last week...

I hope the pro-Hamas people will stay home and allow this to remain a peaceful gathering.
I fear a bit for the safety of the marchers.

The March for Israel has three goals, according to Eric Fingerhut, CEO of Jewish Federations of North America, which is organizing the rally jointly with the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.

Participants will be demanding the return of the estimated 240 hostages Hamas terrorists abducted during its October 7 onslaught on Israel, Fingerhut said. They will also be calling for efforts to combat antisemitism, which has spiked worldwide since the attack. And they will be demonstrating their support for the unabashed backing Israel has so far received from both parties in Congress and the Biden administration.

We do not talk enough about the legitimate fear of hate and violence that Jews have when gathering in large groups.

It. Should. Not. Be. This. Way. In. America.

Good message. Would be good to see Muslims joining in, just as Jews join in the pro-Palestinian marches.

I posted accurate and legitimate information. None of it was "fake news". I can understand that you are embarrassed that students are being offered $250 and reimbursement for travel expenses to attend the rally. If I were you, I would be embarrassed as well. I in no way said that anyone was doing anything dishonest. I would love to see you post even a single time in good faith. But, you simply don't appear capable of such a thing.

DP, but I'm not embarrassed by this. ICC provides microgrants year-round for college students to do Israel programming. You can see more about their microgrant program here: https://israelcc.org/microgrants/. Supporting college students who want to travel to the rally is not something to be ashamed of.

I’m not embarrassed at all because the most cursory google search shows that similar travel subsidies were offered for the “free Palestine” protest. I AM wondering what source led you to dig up what you thought was some kind of embarassing dig off an obscure Jewish website, then amplify it on your own much more high profile site.

You are clearly upset that I posted this information which reported that much more than travel subsidies were being offered. Maybe you are not embarrassed, but you are clearly bothered. You even claimed that it was fake news.

A poster earlier in this thread, and in another thread as well, expressed concern that a midweek demonstration would not attract participation. I came across this offer of $250 plus travel expenses in my X feed and it made me think of that poster. I would think that you would be glad that I amplified it as it might help with recruitment.

No Jeff, the offer was $250 to pay for travel expenses. You are making up that they are getting paid to attend. $250 is probably a similar value to all the buses that were paid for by Palestine supporters. This is “fake news” because a) you are spreading a lie (that they are paying $250 in addition to travel reimbursement) and b) you are suggesting that paying for travel is some kind of shameful thing and Jews are manipulating the crowd - a well-known antisemitic trope as well (“Soros-funded protestors!!!”). When in fact the Palestinian crowd did exactly the same thing.

You are making this out to be much bigger deal than it really needs to be. Especially if you don't think anything is wrong with it. If you thought this was perfectly normal, you would have just said that like the poster above. But you are all bent out of shape about it. Here is the article again:

https://crownheights.info/jewish-news/840736/israel-on-campus-coalition-offers-250-grant-for-college-students-to-attend-washington-dc-israel-rally/

It says, "Israel on Campus Coalition Offers $250 Grant". Note, "grant" not reimbursement. Not "subsidy". Later it says:

"To get reimbursed for travel expenses, students just need to fill out the brief form below. Again, ICC is offering $250 per student to attend the rally in Washington, DC."

That sounds to me like it is a reimbursement for travel expenses and $250 to attend. Maybe that is simply poor wording and I am misunderstanding. If that is the case, you can just explain that without all the accusations that I am spreading fake news and antisemitism. I quoted from the article directly in my first post so I am not sure what would be fake about it. It says what it says.

Anyway, here is how a normal conversation would go: "hey, a group is paying $250 to attend the rally" with a reply, "Yeah, that's normal". But, instead, you have to claim that it is fake news and antisemitism. Your reaction is not normal.

I sincerely hope it remains peaceful. Jewish rallies tend to be. Everyone pays for everyone to attend rallies that’s a part of life. Nothing to see here. The messages I am getting from the Jewish community I belong to March what the above posters have said: release hostages, Israel deserves a right to exist (not to be confused with get rid of Palestine) and combat anti semitism.
I also hope that if there are any outliers - like there were at the pro-Palestinian rally - the overall marchers are afforded the same grace as the overall pro Palestine March on Saturday: I
