I think the key question is “can they get rid of Hamas”. I do not believe there is any military operation that can do so. They can kill many of the current fighters but there will always be a fresh supply, especially if the current raids keep going. It’s like the hydra. One has to figure out how to destroy the heart. And that is only by improving the lot of the Palestinian people. I do believe there are smarter ways to go about reducing the number of Hamas fighters than what Israel is doing. But it may cost more IDF lives which is a calculation Israel has decided it’s not willing to make. |
Not sure about all this, but you are definitely a useful idiot for the Intersectionalist marxists ![]() |
Not PP, but whoever joins these protests that are organized by other interests or have other interests heavily involved. This isn't all about cease fire and peace. I totally support anti-war sentiment and would go there myself. But this is smth else "culture revolution" goes on |
Ding.ding.ding. You get it. It was obvious right from the start. Protests started right after the Hamas attack and before Israel even went into Gaza or started bombing it. Worldwide protests. NYC ones also started small at first then blew up as more people joined supporting legitimate anti-war and anti-bombing of innocent civilians. It's a "revolution" or whatever they call it, more than just pro-Palestine organizations involved and nothing to do with this region. Our students were already "radicalized" and ready to go for whatever cause. University campuses blew up first. Anyone arguing this point, please explain to me what "Intifada revolution" or "Global Intifada" means like I am 5 years old. Populations of Palestinians displaced from their land and Israeli or even entire population of Jews and Palestinians across the world measures in mere millions. there are billions of ppl. What does "global" mean.. |
Just a note the "global intifada" would mean Jews get attacked everywhere. So... yay for your college students and their "harmless" exploration of protest culture? |
For all the smug, sneering vitriol spewing from the keyboards of the Krav Maga tough guys in here, the good guys sure seem shitty at doing their job with minimal collateral damage.
We take all of you at your word. They are seeking to apply surgical, laser-precise tactics to achieve their goal. OK. Wow, are they incompetent! |
Nice stereotyping. Ever tried to perform a surgery when the patient is hiding underneath another 100 random people? |
I googled what Intifada means, here is their blurb: " Intifada is an Arabic word that literally means “shaking off”, and in the Palestinian context, it is understood to mean a civil uprising. The First Palestinian Intifada erupted in Gaza in December 1987, after four Palestinian were killed when an Israeli truck collided with two vans carrying Palestinian workers. " When we are talking about Intifada REVOLUION and GLOBAL Intifada, who are we "shaking off" here? Is this really about Jews and Palestinians? What does "civil uprising" means in the GLOBAL context? Uprising against Who? |
The Intifada is a campaign of violence. You can call it "shaking off" but it is intended to be accomplished by killing Jews. |
Of course they're not going to frame themselves as killers. But... the Intifada is about killing, traditionally by means of suicide bombs, shootings, and knife attacks. More recently by hostage abductions and brutal rapes.
It might be enough to make your renta-kaffiye a little too tight if you can hear their chants for what they really are. |
Acts of war are not just toggling switches in an F-35 to send projectiles into a mass of humanity. Sometimes, you have to develop and apply strategic plans that position your forces such that an objective can be achieved with minimal collateral damage. That’s not happening here. At best, the hive mind running point on strategy here seems grossly incompetent. At worst, it seems to be the work of craven war criminals. |
This is exactly right. Where were these protestors when more than 500,000 people died next door in Syria? Where were they when the Chinese were rounding up Uyghurs and putting them into "reeducation camps?" Not hearing a lot of speeches about the Rohingya. The answer is nowhere. These are the same people that were rioting and looting during the BLM protests. Everything is seen through the prism of race and "anti-colonialism." The Jews are the baddies. Palestinians are People of Color. None actually care about Palestinians. It's myopic, very America-centric thoughtless agitating. And it's clearly being manipulated by bad players - Russia - on social media. |
This would be an easier line of argument to entertain if... October 7th hadn't happened. Really, that kind of deliberate brutality needs answer. |
All of this. And yes, today's protests made Putin very, very happy. Congrats, PPs. |
Here's one party to the conflict- perhaps the most influential party to the conflict- that is benefiting from the slaughter of children and women in Gaza: https://www.barrons.com/articles/lockheed-martin-boeing-northrop-defense-stock-price-d78064b
Maybe the Peace protestors should cross the Potomac and take their demands of Ceasfire and " no military solution" to the offices buildings of Biden's Masters: Lockheed & Boeing |
