Also adding “extremely loud and incredibly close.” I was around that child’s age on 9/11 and my father worked in the area. Luckily he was okay but it was a very traumatic event that I don’t know if I ever really processed. When I saw extremely loud and incredibly close in my twenties, I just lost it.

Really really good film but made me scared to parent teenagers.
As the common sense media review says "There are enough teenage problems in this movie to fill a decade's worth of after-school-specials. But the film's weaknesses are the weaknesses of youth and inexperience, and that is actually very appropriate for the subject matter."
