I happen to like the red head in the Progressive commercials. On the other hand, I've never once considered switching from GEICO because of her... |
I think Jim Vance wears it to be a bad-ass. As in "I can do coke, cheat on my wife and I still have a kickass job. So, I will wear an earring too because anchors aren't supposed to do that." What annoys me at NBC4: Barbara Harrison always flubbing her lines. |
You're funny. "Ew" is a much more sophisticated expression of displeasure. ![]() |
I wonder what Vance's next expression of power will be? Will he sport a bandanna and an eye patch? Will he make all the women co-workers walk the plank and dance for his pleasure? Arrrgh, matey. Still, I will watch. I will be annoyed. |
People who don't know the difference between principle versus principal, capital versus capitol, etc.
It doesn't really annoy me, I wouldn't even bother correcting anyone on DCUM about it. I find it sad and shocking though. Sometimes these types of errors are careless because the person has written something in haste. Usually not, though. It is an adult with an unconquered learning disability. That just is always saddening to me. ![]() |
I found her voice to be extremely annoying, for some reason. "Happens to me all the time!!" And her name - according to the name tag - is "Flo". How annoying is that? ![]() |
Loose v. lose Compliment v. complement |
disinterested v. uninterested |
mischievous vs mischievious (never spelled this way but often pronounced this way - gack!) |
Unconsciously v. Subconsciously |
Better than the Channel 7 anchor woman who keeps saying "incest" instead of "incense". |
I axed you a question... |
Don't even get me started on the whole there-their-they're conundrum. Or it's-its. Also, people who think an apostrophe is required simply becuase a word ends in the letter s.
Totally agree about the used band-aids in the pool. Foul. It's really not hard to walk to the garbage can, people. Any commercials featuring animated noses, ear wax, or mucus characters carousing in a lung. |
Irregardless instead of irrespective. Me or myself. The list goes on. |
"Irregardless' is not a word. This is an incredibly common mistake and one of the most annoying for me. It's just 'regardless'. |
