Random things that annoy me

People who don't take off their sunglasses when they're talking to you. Also, people who keep their sunglasses on inside AND don't take them off when talking to you.

Those huge "Yellow Pages" phone books. They are so obsolete. Why do they still make them, for senior citizens?

People who sign their emails "Best,"...

It is hifalutin.

When did this become the standard sign off?

When people first walk inside sometimes they forget they have them on. It's not intentional...jeez.

Stepping on a manhole cover and getting a little shock.

People on cell phones on equipment in the gym who are "working out"

Posters on the private school thread -- and there are many of them -- who insist that their private schools are more diverse than any good public school.

I'm not fond of that either. What exactly does best mean as a salutation? Best what?

Short for "best regards". I rarely sign an email anything except "thanks", "best", or "cheers". Ha!

Though I will say, I am annoyed by "thanks in advance", or worse "TIA". Why are you assuming I'm going to do anything you need to thank me for? Just because you asked? Sometimes, as I tell my toddler, the answer is no.

There is this guy in my office who starts every email reply "Thanks for this." It's such irregular speech. It's actually jarring.

Thanks for clarifying. I'm going back to "best regards." I can't stand "best" anymore. My sister has the nerve to sign emails to me "best". Best, my ass. LOVE, God damn it.

Broken metro escalators. They raised prices. I expect more.
