My fantasy life

I live in Maine in a pretty historical cozy home near a meadow, a pond, blueberry bushes, fruit trees, the ocean and a quaint village. I have my pets with me, a bunch of ducks on my property and a few chickens for eggs, a few sheep and goats for grazing. I paint and sell my art at a coffee shop/artisan shop in town. My dh works at a little private school nearby as a History teacher and loves it. Our kids live in Europe, have great spouses, good jobs and wonderful, full and exciting lives. During summers, our grandkids come and visit for a long stretch of time.

Let's try this again. You are taking a walk, it's boring. You are waiting in a waiting room. You are on a flight, can't sleep.

What are you thinking about?

Did I unplug the iron? Is there a bill I still need to pay? I hope dd remembered to hand in that paper. I need to schedule that vet appointment. What will I make for dinner? I wonder how dad's pre-op appointment with the surgeon went. I probably should buy more TP.

I own a a boutique where I sell pretty, unnecessary objects like scarves, jewelry, rare books, teacups, and candles - the kind of place you'd like to browse on a fall afternoon. It's located on Main Street in a picturesque small town where everyone seems to know everyone. Not far away is my historic Bed and Breakfast, which is known for its lavish breakfast spreads with lots of fresh baked goods. Even if I don't have time to bake, there are always fresh pastries around. I live with my husband who is a handsome doctor. Our children live with us but basically function as adults, and never need me to drive them to soccer practice. There are plenty of wise, caring adults around to help out, and all the kids really need from me are occasional words of encouragement and more fresh baked muffins. My life is fun. I have an active social life, truly enjoy entertaining, and look amazing despite my prodigious pastry intake. Sometimes there are interesting little mysteries to solve, but honestly everything seems to work out perfectly for me.

Oh, and it's always sweater weather.

That's anxiety. What about fantasy or daydreams?

I live in a warm contemporary light filled home with views of mountains and water. I can take long scenic walks to a local coffee shop each morning before getting ready in my beautiful bathroom. My husband and I only work at passion projects and our teen attends college within a short drive, enjoying visits and bringing friends around from time to time.

We spend our time doing meaningful work mostly from our separate home offices with views, cooking and eating out at new places, traveling to beautiful locations to eat, hike, and relax, and we have 3 huge cats. We entertain once every few weeks and host any guests who want to visit us and our beautiful home in a separate guest suite.

Our parent are healthy, well cared for, and we can visit them or host on a whim due to being rich and not tied to work.

Everyone is healthy, happy, and motivated to be their best whatever it is they are drawn to.

Eventually our child marries someone lovely and they live within an hour of us and work hard and fulfilling jobs, with some support from us to not have to worry about money. This is until we die in our sleep at 110 and 105 respectively, and our estate is left to them.

I live in a stone cottage on a cliffside overlooking the ocean. The storms rush in and the rain splatters against my windows. But I dont care - I am reading a good book in a comfy chair, and my dog is curled up by my feet in front of the fire. Later I might make myself a posset.

I live in a teepee with busy blonde Norwegians servicing me 24/7 . I have a masseuse on call that provides tickle massages to my bum

I live in SoCal (at least this part is true!)

I am single (true again!!) so I live in a modern, spacious two-bedroom townhouse.
With ice cold A/C during the hot/humid summers!
I also have thick, plush carpet that never gets dirty or stained & lots of windows w/picturesque windows overlooking the ocean.
I have a large laundry room w/a state-of-the-art pink washer + dryer.
All of my furniture is high~quality and it all matches.
I have a private yard out back w/real grass that I don’t have to mow.

I also have three kitty 🐈‍⬛ cats 🐈 that clean their own litter boxes (ha!!) and a career where I have a private office.
I work part-time and have a substantial trust fund.
I am naturally thin despite eating fast food everyday and not working out.

I have a beautiful singing voice and can play the guitar too.
I have already published six novels and am currently working on my memoir which is highly anticipated.

Finally I have a steady boyfriend who looks like a clean(er!) cut version of Pete Davidson.

I am active but naturally thin and can eat whatever I want. I spend my winters skiing and summers hiking and traveling. I do some volunteer work in my free time.

I have my kids, but we have a driver who shuttles them around to their practices. We have 2 golden retrievers.

Mine is basically this. But with a city apartment, too! I would work, but very PT, either something with kids or as a novelist.

I foster dogs in my spare time, in between gardening, weekly massages, reading, tennis and golf. My FWB lives in Europe and I see him periodically or he comes to visit me. I also have a home on the West Coast where I go during the winter. Money is no object. i can eat whatever I want without worrying about getting fat. I let my hair grow silver and I have no health problems. I have several close friends I get together with regularly a la Oprah and Gayle. Both of my parents are alive and both of my in-laws are not.

the inlaw remark

Lol!!

Nice last remark.

The humor of it caught me off guard! 😅

Anonymous wrote:I live with my sweet DH and three beautiful children in a little house that is kind of small, but cozy and clean. I work part-time at a job I love, pick up my children from school and go to pool, playground or arboretum with them. On Saturday mornings we walk to our neighborhood bakery to pick up fresh bread, and they eat warm rolls on the way back. We read books at home and snuggle before bed. My DH cooks dinner and after the kids go to sleep, we watch Netflix but only about 10 minutes because he insists on pausing it every 30 seconds to tell me something (about the show, about his day, about something he read). We go to bed early and everything is calm. That’s my life and I think it’s better than any fantasy I could have!

Kudos to you with your attitude of gratitude! Here’s hoping your three kids inherit it from their mom!

Awww, this is so sweet. This sounds like my life before I went back to work FT. It's still pretty good. (Oh, but I do all the cooking. It's fine, I like it.)
