Except the evidence is to the contrary. Look at how prices have gone up in places like South Arlington and Pimmit Hills.

South Arlington went up after Amazon moved in. Pimmit Hills is zoned for Marshall and right next to Tysons. Annandale doesn't have anything going for it unlike those two areas.

Pimmit hills is and will always be the poor neighborhood between McLean and Vienna despite all the teardowns. I went to Marshall high and wish I went to McLean. Not sure why it’s ranked where it is.

Agree on Annandale.

I hate to say it, but schools that have high URM populations are unappealing. Whether it be Annandale, Marshall, Woodson, basically anything that’s not Langley is not reputable to buyers.

Isn't Woodson supposed to be one of the better FCPS high schools?

it’s south of fairfsx city. anything south of fairfax is URM, north of fairfax is desirable. Generally speaking, the closer you get to the occoquan the worse, closer to the potomac the better

Woodson is literally on the Main Street of Fairfax.

Woodson is a great school. What is URM? So much nonsense.

Woodson used to be great, until the county approved affordable housing that drove the hispanic % up. it’s not only about the ratings, although they have been declining, but some schools with good ratings like west springfield are also undesirable. there’s some legacy that comes with each school.

So you hate poor people AND you’re a racist. Got it.

He's correct though. Why else would peeps on here be shopping for schools with the lowest presence of immigrant students? And why else would people move to further away whiter areas when the neighborhood becomes too diverse with renters instead of buyers?

NP. Wealthy people don’t want their kids around low performing URM kids. It drags their own kids down in schools unless they go private. If you view that as racist and hateful, that’s too bad for you. There’s a reason mclean etc. is expensive. Most of the rifraff is priced out.

West Springfield's average SAT score is only 1166. I desire a school whose average score is over 1200.

the school is 30% URM. i’ve never seen anyone sought after being in the west springfield school district. if you can buy homes for 500k in that school district, it’s not desirable.

Wow. FFX County has changed a lot then. We lived there for most of the mid-2000s. West Springfield High and Woodson were very desirable non-Langley/McLean alternatives. They were more sought after than LBSS, Centerville, and Robinson.

PP is just trolling, but it still might surprise them to know that there are people who would actively avoid Langley.

His “ish” after McLean is intended to signal its borderline; to a fully committed troll only Langley is an acceptable public school.
