Also class of '93. We yelled, "Punch Buggy Blue!" or whatever color it was and punched the person next to you. Siblings and friends. |
| Yes, in CT. I’m fairly certain our parents taught it too us. I’m 42. Definitely not a light tap with my brother/friend group. |
| It's urban legend, OP. Everyone is lying to you. |
Ted Bundy owned one and it was on display in DC for several years. |
Punch buggy, no returns! That's exactly how we say it. In Mexico for some funny reason we played Oxxo, no returns while riding the bus or taxi. (Oxxo is like 7-11 in Mexico) Our kids are adults now and we still do it just for fun sometimes. |
| Still do. "Punch Buggy [Color!]" |
I am the PP and I’m 50 years old so pretty damn grown up myself. I still hate any “game” that involves punching, hitting, mockery, bra snapping, etc. Really it was always pissy people doing it that then would say “oh, you can’t take a joke” if you said “hey—don’t hit me!” I weighed 90 pounds in in HS so maybe that was part of it, but I really do hate this kind of stuff. |
| Slug bug! |
| Yes, in the late 80s. Grew up in Pa/Nj |
|
Punch Bug? Absolutely we did this.
Graduating class of 1985. |
We held our breath whenever we passed a cemetery, until we passed a white house. |
Lol, thank you for saying this! I was beginning to question everything with all these Punch Bugs and Punch Buggies. Clearly Slug Bug! |
|
We also did something called "Indian Burns" and some slapping game where you made a mark with ink on the back of your hands and your sister tried to slap you until it rubbed off...
Fun times, the 70s...! |
| Teenage son and I still play Punchbuggy! No punch backs! |
You are insufferable |
