Did people really used to do this or is this mostly urban legend?
Would such a game be considered offensive in today's "everything is offensive" politically correct climate? |
| Wtf? What? |
| Only with like siblings and close friends. Chill, OP. |
| Ha, yes - we did this in high school (in the midwest). Very mature. |
| My family owned bugs from 1966-1983 and I’ve never seen, heard or encountered this. Someone must be putting your leg. |
|
Not an urban legend.
We definitely did this growing up. We also played Padiddle....one headlight of a car coming at you and you yelled paddidle and hit the ceiling of the car. As teens it would allow us to kiss someone else in the car. |
| Punch bug! Yes, high school class of 93 and we definitely did it. |
That's because you were IN the bug--I guarantee someone who saw your car from a car said it
|
My kids still do this. We do their cousins. |
Yes! We played punch buggy and padiddle (punching each other at the sight of a car with one headlight). I had sore arms from my brother’s punches! I guess it was because we had no phones to entertain us, but I remember lots of car games. |

LOL…um, yes, if by “people” you mean kids in the backseat, and by “punch” you mean “light tap on the arm.”
This is maybe the most pathetic reach I’ve ever seen trying to make the whole Everything is Sensitive point. And that really is saying something. Stay bothered! |
| Yes - punch buggy! But, as someone said above, with siblings and close friends. |
Nope, it was real and it happened. |
| Yes, we did it. Don’t know why it would be considered offensive. |
How old are you? |
