In addition to being genuine, she's also hard working, smart, and knowledgeable about the inner workings of the DC government. Have you paid attention to any of her plans? Anything she's proposed as ANC? She'll do great. Mendelson has been a dud. |
Mendelson oversaw the shitshow that was reopening. You've got a weird bias going on. |
ANCs can’t propose anything. They have no power to actually do anything. The only thing they actually can do is obstruct things. Unless she proposed to minimize ANC created red tape, I won’t be impressed. |
He shot down the attempts to close schools even longer. The Council was awful on covid and schools but he was the least awful. Palmer would have used her power to keep schools closed entirely until fall 2021. |
That’s not an answer to my question and makes pretty clear you are the person belittling her on multiple fronts. Thank you for your honesty. |
Try reading again. I pointed to what she proposed. Which anyone can do as an individual citizen, but is amplified when done as an ANC. Especially the way she and hey ANC collaborated with other ANCs and groups across the city. I think she'd be very effective, especially in ways that Mendelson does squat. |
He could have held the mayor accountable for having the HVAC fixed, testing in place, and more, but didn't. He blindly followed her lies. The issue is so much more complex than open vs. closed. If you think the mayor did a great job then you're blind. |
All of these things were litigated by the WTU. The lies are that we needed them to open. It's simply obstructionist to say, "well we WANTED to open, but it was important for everyone to get a pony FIRST. Ergo, since everyone doesn't have a pony, it's the mayor's fault that we didn't open." It's so tired as a tactic at this point. |
You’re the one who said her “genuine” qualities were important, in contrast to Mendelson who you criticized for a lack of these qualities. I am trying to understand why this is important? What about these qualities will make her an effective Council President? |
the mayor was the only person invested in getting the schools open. the rest is gravy. the hvac thing was a tactic to stall reopening, nothing more. |
oh yes, a proposal with no power in coordination with other ANCs that also have no power. super impressive. |
I'm glad you didn't have a kid in a classroom with no ventilation. I won't forgive him or the mayor for that. |
As council chair she will be. Mendelson has that power now and just abuses it. Such a dud |
No, having been a student in a legal clinic supervised by adjunct faculty whom I addressed as "Professor X," what I don't understand is why you need to downplay the role of adjunct faculty. Weird. |
You don't seem like you're trying to understand. If you're the same person responding with bad faith arguments elsewhere here you're just being combative. Bye. |
