Then wear a mask. Or stay home. You have two options entirely in your control.

Then where is the baby formula??? The pandemic is impacting every part of our life because of idiots like you who think spreading a virus is fun.

?

DP

There was contamination at the Abbott factory (a huge producer of formula) which sadly resulted in babies dying. That factory has been temporarily shut down. Result: shortage.

Interestingly, pictures popped up earlier this week of pallets of formula being shipped and stored at the border for use in immigrant shelters/detention centers. So, we have the formula…it’s just being prioritized for humanitarian purposes at the border presumably through lucrative federal contracts that must be honored by the manufacturers.

#themoreyouknow

There is nothing wrong with sending formula to the detention centers. Between your lack of care of covid and these places, you are pretty heartless.

I’m far from heartless. And I’m not philosophically opposed to providing formula to immigrants.

I’m merely pointing out that the formula shortage isn’t covid related. We are 2 years into covid btw, and this is a new thing prompted by the Abbott factory issue. I’m also flagging that we do have formula but are opting to send it to immigrants being held in TX and CA instead of stocking our grocery shelves. That is impacting the supply.

We could temporarily shut down the border btw…particularly given the covid situation. It’s interesting that you are flipping out about covid and masks in mcps without connecting the dots to the border. You do realize our mcps student #s increased after the border reopened. While migrants cross into tx or ca, lots settle here because of family connections. Unvaxxed kids even.

Again, no judgment. Just stating facts which many people aren’t aware of.

LMAO, Tucker. Even for you, this line of logic is quite a reach. I really recommend you slink back to the Virginia boards. You don't get your a$$ handed to you as often there. Probably better for your self-esteem

She previously admitted she doesn’t like interacting with others (except on dcum, apparently), so she’s probably trying to perpetuate fear of covid in an attempt to continue her reclusive lifestyle.

This is how you seriously mess up your kids, folks.

No. She did not. I did. Because frankly, careless people like you have utterly destroyed my faith in humanity. If our culture is truly this sick, I want no part of it.

If you think your kid isn't messed up by you teaching them their soccer games are more important than their biology teacher with chemo's life, I don't want my kids anywhere near yours. No doubt you spend a great deal of time trying to make the world respect larlx's new pronouns, but making them wear a mask? That's a bridge too far.

Our kids still go to school --masked. We do everything we can. But the trust and hope I once had that people would do the right thing? It's mostly gone. Especially when it comes to the UMC in the DMV. It's significant, I think that PG county takes this seriously and Moco refuses to. It's significant that the majority of schools with the highest case numbers skew from the conservative, affluent areas of the county. My kid's high school only made the chart at all in the last few days. You could say there's a lack of testing at play too and I wouldn't deny it. But there's more going on than this.

I said it at the beginning of the pandemic, when you said this was just the flu affecting fat old people and I will say it again: COVID is as much of a scourge as it is because of massive entitlement. It is a virus spread by the careless rich, and suffered by the people they never even see.

Now you're saying it's no big deal. I'm not sure how you think this will end, Larlx's mom. But not well. You haven't been right yet.

A virus spread by the careless rich? A lot of words when saying “I’m a clown and have a lot of nonsense to spew” would have sufficed.

Anyone can pull random articles to prove their point but just because it is not being done elsewhere does not make it best practice. Grow up.

The virus came to this country through cruise ships and European ski vacations in the winter of 2020. I know you like to try and blame immigrants at "the border" because that feeds your dimwitted base, and also because your from one of those families whose history in this country is still short enough that you have a lot of self-consciousness about just how "American" you are... But those are your issues, sweetie. They don't have anything to do with COVID.

Haven't been right yet? Covid isn't going away. That's more clear now than it's ever been. Agonize all you want over that. Complain about masks, or vaccines, schools reopening, or bars/restaurants. I know the media threw around words like herd immunity and allowed people to think a measles-like end to the pandemic was near. But that was never a realistic ending. Our current situation has always been the best outcome: a disease that poses minimal risk to people willing to get vaccinated, and that whose more severe outcomes primarily target people who are already close to death.

A virus spread by the careless rich? A lot of words when saying “I’m a clown and have a lot of nonsense to spew” would have sufficed.

I’m not posting about immigrants. BTW, this current variant has nothing to do with 2020. And it always spread thru all natural of border crossings (county, state, and federal). You are wildly simple-minded.

Then wear a mask. Or stay home. You have two options entirely in your control.

Haven't been right yet? Covid isn't going away. That's more clear now than it's ever been. Agonize all you want over that. Complain about masks, or vaccines, schools reopening, or bars/restaurants. It doesn't really matter. If it wasn't clear to you before, it should be clear to you now that there was never a plausible path to eradicating Covid.

Vaccines came sooner than expected, and have done remarkably well. Remember when 50% protection was going to be considered a success?

I know the media threw around words like herd immunity and allowed people to think a measles-like end to the pandemic was near. But that was never a realistic ending. Our current situation has always been the best outcome: a disease that poses minimal risk to people willing to get vaccinated, and that whose more severe outcomes primarily target people who are already close to death.

No one here said anything about eradicating COVID. Except you. Who said, "I don't have to do anything to mitigate infections for me or anyone else because Covid is forever. Grow up."

Well, the thing is, Patrick Bateman, most of us have.

That's why we wear masks, use air purifiers, and try and not expose our families or infect others with exciting new strains of COVID!!! In the middle of a deluge, you don't know how it's going to end, but you still seek shelter. If you're sane.

I mean, if you're YOU, you start blaming all those greedy immigrants at the border, but like I said, that's really just about your family issues, isn't it?

You’ve managed to make not wearing masks even more enjoyable. It’s amusing how bothered you are by all this. Enjoy feeling this way the rest of your natural life.

A virus spread by the careless rich? A lot of words when saying “I’m a clown and have a lot of nonsense to spew” would have sufficed.

Go easy on her please. She’s clearly hysterical. She needs pity more than anything else.

7. You seem to be under the mistaken impression that people tracking this thread care what you think? Evidenced by your attempt to discredit the data with inflated opinions not backed by data yourself? You could have chosen to not comment on this post. You could have chosen to not read this post altogether. Yet you feel the need, the urge, to make comments without facts time and time again. It shows your fear. Your insecurity. Your need to convince others that you are correct and the science and data is wrong. There is nothing that I can say nor do to help you. You must decide yourself to see the world as it is, then choose how you will navigate those obsticles. In the meantime, take comfort in knowing that, for now, there is not a more serious variant detected that will outpace Omicron. For now. The question is, how many repeated infections can a child withstand before the cumulative damage takes its toll?

8. If you don't like these comments or opinions, stop reading them. Go away. Feel good about yourself and ignore the thread. Move on with your life! I know it's early in the morning, but go grab a beer, glass of wine, shot of vodka, mommy's little helper, or whatever you need to have a good time!

Then wear a mask. Or stay home. You have two options entirely in your control.

And if the rain is never going to end, you learn to swim.

That's what you can't seem to grasp. Covid is never going to end.

It can get better if people like you would cooperate.

It IS better. It’s a lot better than it was. It’s probably as good as it’s going to get. If you can’t accept that (as the overwhelming majority of us have), I’m not sure what else there is to say.

No, not in any sort of sustained way. Get your vaccinations when you’re eligible- that’s about the only sustainable thing we can do that will do any good.

No one is claiming people can’t get reinfected with covid after vaccination or a prior infection. But the immunity gained from vaccination and prior infection protects against severe illness, a point brought up in your second article and confirmed by studies.

Cardiovascular effects from infections are not unique to covid. We see them after other infections, such as the flu, which was discussed in your first article. The effects are typically mild, and go unnoticed or diagnosed.

That’s not to say there are risks from covid. There are. But they aren’t that different from risks we’ve long faced. And there’s no realistic path for avoiding them long-term.

100% agree. I know people with long flu, long Lyme, and my child has long RSV. Yes, for children, covid is like the flu.. arguably the actual real flu is worse. We under react to the flu and, at this point with vaccines and therapeutics, we over react to covid in this area.
