Do you even bother to read the articles before you post them, much less the actual underlying studies?
No one is claiming people can’t get reinfected with covid after vaccination or a prior infection. But the immunity gained from vaccination and prior infection protects against severe illness, a point brought up in your second article and confirmed by studies. Cardiovascular effects from infections are not unique to covid. We see them after other infections, such as the flu, which was discussed in your first article. The effects are typically mild, and go unnoticed or diagnosed. That’s not to say there are risks from covid. There are. But they aren’t that different from risks we’ve long faced. And there’s no realistic path for avoiding them long-term. |
Anyone can pull random articles to prove their point but just because it is not being done elsewhere does not make it best practice. Grow up. |
So, give up and do nothing. Enjoy Covid. |
Deal. |
Then wear a mask. Or stay home. You have two options entirely in your control. |
She previously admitted she doesn’t like interacting with others (except on dcum, apparently), so she’s probably trying to perpetuate fear of covid in an attempt to continue her reclusive lifestyle. This is how you seriously mess up your kids, folks. |
Then where is the baby formula??? The pandemic is impacting every part of our life because of idiots like you who think spreading a virus is fun. |
You're very simple-minded to only see things through the lens of Covid. There is a baby formula shortage because a contaminant was found in Abbott's product. They stopped manufacturing and are waiting approval to re-start. It's going to rain again this weekend. Is that because I didn't wear a mask last week? Please regale me with your simple-minded analysis. |
? DP There was contamination at the Abbott factory (a huge producer of formula) which sadly resulted in babies dying. That factory has been temporarily shut down. Result: shortage. Interestingly, pictures popped up earlier this week of pallets of formula being shipped and stored at the border for use in immigrant shelters/detention centers. So, we have the formula…it’s just being prioritized for humanitarian purposes at the border presumably through lucrative federal contracts that must be honored by the manufacturers. #themoreyouknow |
There is nothing wrong with sending formula to the detention centers. Between your lack of care of covid and these places, you are pretty heartless. |
Are you the same poster with the absurd observation about Covid causing the baby formula shortage? Is this how you try to make a comeback on that slice of idiocy? |
You lost me at “Japanese researcher suggests…” |
I’m far from heartless. And I’m not philosophically opposed to providing formula to immigrants. I’m merely pointing out that the formula shortage isn’t covid related. We are 2 years into covid btw, and this is a new thing prompted by the Abbott factory issue. I’m also flagging that we do have formula but are opting to send it to immigrants being held in TX and CA instead of stocking our grocery shelves. That is impacting the supply. We could temporarily shut down the border btw…particularly given the covid situation. It’s interesting that you are flipping out about covid and masks in mcps without connecting the dots to the border. You do realize our mcps student #s increased after the border reopened. While migrants cross into tx or ca, lots settle here because of family connections. Unvaxxed kids even. Again, no judgment. Just stating facts which many people aren’t aware of. |
+1 Also, OP is acting like the only possible place Covid is being spread in the community is in schools. Spoiler alert: it’s not. Yes, there is a rise in cases in the community, and yes, that includes children who attend school. But that doesn’t mean they got it at school. I’m a HS teacher and had two students with Covid over the past two weeks. Both got it from parents, who got it at work. About the only useful thing to see the list of elementary schools is that they are a proxy for zip code/town level data. However, I find the county website better for that because it includes all the adults too. |
No. She did not. I did. Because frankly, careless people like you have utterly destroyed my faith in humanity. If our culture is truly this sick, I want no part of it. If you think your kid isn't messed up by you teaching them their soccer games are more important than their biology teacher with chemo's life, I don't want my kids anywhere near yours. No doubt you spend a great deal of time trying to make the world respect larlx's new pronouns, but making them wear a mask? That's a bridge too far. Our kids still go to school --masked. We do everything we can. But the trust and hope I once had that people would do the right thing? It's mostly gone. Especially when it comes to the UMC in the DMV. It's significant, I think that PG county takes this seriously and Moco refuses to. It's significant that the majority of schools with the highest case numbers skew from the conservative, affluent areas of the county. My kid's high school only made the chart at all in the last few days. You could say there's a lack of testing at play too and I wouldn't deny it. But there's more going on than this. I said it at the beginning of the pandemic, when you said this was just the flu affecting fat old people and I will say it again: COVID is as much of a scourge as it is because of massive entitlement. It is a virus spread by the careless rich, and suffered by the people they never even see. Now you're saying it's no big deal. I'm not sure how you think this will end, Larlx's mom. But not well. You haven't been right yet. |
