4.  You seem to believe that there is no possibility of more serious variants occurring in the future?

5. You seem to believe MCPS will have time to detect, reformulate and communicate a new covid game plan if a more serious variant appears?  For which the MCPS Central Office and Board of Education's response track record seems to be inept and incompetent in dealing with covid spikes to date?

6.  You seem to want to believe that Wolfe and McKnight are helpless to act?  Yet it will most likely disproportionately affect the "underrepresented populations" that Wolfe and McKnight claim to champion?  
the Department of Health might recommend masks if a COVID-19 outbreak was confirmed in a classroom or school.

7.  You seem to be under the mistaken impression that people tracking this thread care what you think?  Evidenced by your attempt to discredit the data with inflated opinions not backed by data yourself?  You could have chosen to not comment on this post.  You could have chosen to not read this post altogether.  Yet you feel the need, the urge, to make comments without facts time and time again.  It shows your fear.  Your insecurity.  Your need to convince others that you are correct and the science and data is wrong.  There is nothing that I can say nor do to help you.  You must decide yourself to see the world as it is, then choose how you will navigate those obsticles.  In the meantime, take comfort in knowing that, for now, there is not a more serious variant detected that will outpace Omicron.  For now.  The question is, [b]how many repeated infections can a child withstand before the cumulative damage takes its toll[/b]?

No. She did not. I did. Because frankly, careless people like you have utterly destroyed my faith in humanity. If our culture is truly this sick, I want no part of it.

If you think your kid isn't messed up by you teaching them their soccer games are more important than their biology teacher with chemo's life, I don't want my kids anywhere near yours. No doubt you spend a great deal of time trying to make the world respect larlx's new pronouns, but making them wear a mask? That's a bridge too far.

Our kids still go to school --masked. We do everything we can. But the trust and hope I once had that people would do the right thing? It's mostly gone. Especially when it comes to the UMC in the DMV. It's significant, I think that PG county takes this seriously and Moco refuses to. It's significant that the majority of schools with the highest case numbers skew from the conservative, affluent  areas of the county. My kid's high school only made the chart at all in the last few days. You could say there's a lack of testing at play too and I wouldn't deny it. But there's more going on than this.

I said it at the beginning of the pandemic, when you said this was just the flu affecting fat old people and I will say it again: COVID is as much of a scourge as it is because of massive entitlement. It is a virus spread by the careless rich, and suffered by the people they never even see.

Haven't been right yet? Covid isn't going away. That's more clear now than it's ever been. Agonize all you want over that. Complain about masks, or vaccines, schools reopening, or bars/restaurants. It doesn't really matter. If it wasn't clear to you before, it should be clear to you now that there was never a plausible path to eradicating Covid.

Vaccines came sooner than expected, and have done remarkably well. Remember when 50% protection was going to be considered a success?
