You should be fine. |
| Drove Rockville- Tyson’s round trip earlier this afternoon. Traffic was slow in parts but doable if you leave extra time. Politically, it grossed me out to see those let’s go Brandon flags, etc. and all the MAGA folks on the overpasses. |
I had to go north to Frederick on 270 about the same time the convoy left Hagerstown. Never saw the convoy, but it wasn’t blocking traffic judging by the small orange section on Google maps. There were plenty of cops along the south bound side though - one or two per mile. Biggest slowdown North was people looking at the handful of protesters on an overpass. Waving a few flags, shouting at traffic. My favorite sign was printed - “Mandate Freedom “.
Overall, pretty pathetic. |
| I could hear them honking in the distance from Falls Church. Figured out that it was at 15-20 people that had convened on the Lee Hwy overpass. They were gone by 3:45pm or so. |
| We are coming down 270 just south of Frederick. Around 50-60 trucks with flags just went on the northbound side. Seems like they’re returning to home base. |
|
Encountered a group with flags on the Idylwood 495 overpass in Vienna/Falls Church. They were small in number but rowdy. Horns were honking to them as the trucks went by.
The people with flags did not look like they were from that neighborhood. |
| To each their own but standing at a highway overpass to watch a bunch of traffic go by is a new one |
|
I drove from Route 4 to Silver Spring on the Outer Loop around 3. A few people with flags were at most of the overpasses.
Traffic was really slow for about 15 minutes because there were two people standing on the shoulder with cameras around Route 50! So dangerous, and annoying. I don't think the convoy was very close at all, either. |
|
Rockville to Vienna poster here. Made it to my destination with no trouble at all. No sign of the convoy in either direction. There was what looked like a disabled car on the Bridge northbound, but even that traffic wasn’t awful.
|
| Saw a lone white pickup truck ludicrously festooned with Trump flags and other dorky stuff flying around at 17th and Constitution. And now I feel completely destroyed and owned lol. |
It affects me that there are so many ignorant people in this country who like to come to this area to try to mess up a perfectly nice Sunday. And yes, I feel the same way when climate activitists or pro-life activists block traffic. It’s annoying and doesn’t serve their cause, only makes me think less of them. |
We were headed south from Frederick about 3:45pm on Sunday. We were on 270 for a bit before we started seeing trucks headed North (back to Frederick or Hagerstown, I’m guessing) and the kids counted 300 before we turned of onto 370. |
| I walked over 270 around 4. Saw 3 trucks go. I would not have though anything of them without the flags etc. They seemed to be a normal part of traffic with some horn honking. |
I am so so sorry your perfectly nice Sunday was “messed up.” Must have been so hard! If you set up a Go Fund Me I’ll totally contribute. |
| Supposedly they are planning on coming back tomorrow morning. I hope the Beltway eats them up and spits them back out. |
