Truck Convoy: Sightings?

Anonymous
I "return to office" tomorrow and am wondering how constitution, to H street, and like 20th st. to 7th street look right now. Seems clear? I looked at WTOP and dc metro and see the maps for the SOTU but not any convoy mess. Am I missing it?

I think it's all talk. Last week one truck actually made it. Gas is too high to just randomly come to DC in your 18 wheeler.

We saw one pickup truck idling outside our house in NW DC this past weekend. Texas plates, it was rigged with a popup tent for camping, all the usual "PATRIOT" stickers.

They stuck out like a sore thumb in our neighborhood. My guess was that they had just arrived in DC and seemed to be idling while they figured out where to go next. They hung out in front of our house for about 45 minutes before moving on.

Hopefully the Russia/Ukraine stuff has made them realize how ridiculous their protest is.

that and the fact that most covid mandates have been lifted or are expiring.

+2 Just about to type the same thing. There's nothing to protest.

They were just scouting. They took some pics of your homes, some video. Made note of typical traffic patterns, stoplight timing, did several 5-minute surveys to note number of police vehicles that passed by to get an average number to approximate the patrol patterns. Looked for any evidence of larger dogs at specific homes, alarm systems, cameras, etc. Located the electrical transformers and cable/fiber junction boxes on the block. One of the team had probably slipped out earlier and had recon’d the alleys and backyards for motion detector lights and such.

Standard fieldcraft stuff. Likely just a training-op to stay sharp. Or maybe real intel gathering, only they themselves would know for certain.

You think the convoy people are driving here from Texas to...burglarize houses? Or what, they're super secret spies practicing their "fieldcraft" but apparently skipped the lesson on not driving the most recognizable vehicle ever?

Take your meds, you're insane.

Your sarcasm meter might require calibration. Just an observation.

To your original question: where are you coming from?

I cross the 14th St Bridge and at every exit there are at least two police vehicles with lights on and some have snow plows with them. This is causing backups as people slow due to the lights. For the first time since pre covid, the bridge backed up past pentagon city mall.
