| Can a restaurant avoid this by eliminating kids menus? They can change the name to small plates, or half portions? |
They can eliminate kids menus and many say that is exactly what they will do. Not sure about small plates or half portions. |
They still want kids which is why I am brainstorming half portions but what would be better would be if they did an à la cart which would include hotdogs, french fries etc. In most restaurants you can already order a side of vegetables, salad and healthy options. So basically you just build your own kids meal without calling it a kids meal. |
They could, but why? Why is it so important to only feed kids junk food like hot dogs and french fries? |
The question is whether restaurants offer nothing else. My guess is that most restaurants already offer something healthy. So, your perspective is highly misleading. Are you suggesting restaurants should be prohibited from offering nuggets and fries. Are you suggesting parents should be prohibited from ordering nuggets and fries for their kids? Where is the evidence that a real problems exists, namely that few restaurants offer healthy options? Again, a solution looking for a problem. But I am pleased that the Council feels good about themselves. |
It’s not. But there are some restaurants that literally just serve hotdogs, fried chicken, Burgers and fries. Someone going to that restaurant really isn’t looking for a healthy alternative. |
