Part of what makes it funny is the history of the joke itself. Comedians sort of compete to make the family's act as disgusting as possible. So part of the humor has to do with how this comedian compares to other comedians who have told the joke in the past. Some context: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Aristocrats |
Why do people just make stuff up? He didn’t have some magical CA to FL flight just before he died. He was in Florida for weeks |
Dunno. Been napping since my twenties and so many friends with cancer when we were in our late 30s through 50s. So, no. |
I'm in FL so have read lots of coverage of this. It said he was found lying in bed, one arm across his chest and other arm alongside-which is a sleeping position, and the room was neat and orderly and his were the only belongings in the room and were in appropriate places (like the closet). He was supposed to check out that day and when his wife could not reach him, she called hotel security who entered the room and called the authorities. It really does sound like a heart attack. |
| My friend woke up one morning and found her 30 year old husband dead beside her. Sometimes even healthy young men drop dead. Remember Sergei Grinkov? |
| Mary Kate and Ashley attended the funeral. I am confused by the pall bearers. Bob Saget was jewish. I am jewish. I have been to many funerals. There have never been pall bearers. The people who work at the places move the casket. Why did Bob have pall bearers? Where were they carrying the casket? I don't exactly know what they do. |
Yes, they are. |
I’m Jewish too and we always have pallbearers. It is usually the young people, grandchildren for example. We carry the casket into and out of wherever we hold the service and again to the graveside. If we needed help we could get help from the funeral home or cemetery. It is our obligation to do this just as it is to put the first shovel of dirt over the casket. I’m interested that you have not experienced this. Hiring out pallbearers goes completely against my understanding of the tradition. The tradition being that despite our reluctance to say goodbye, it is our duty to bury our loved one. |
Agreed...I am Jewish and we always have pallbearers. |
+1 same |
Muslims also have pallbearers. It's a very common, respectful phenomenon in may religions and cultures. |
I'm Jewish and helped carry my father-in-law's casket, and he was a rabbi. I honestly had no idea Saget was Jewish until he passed away and didn't know he was a Philly boy. RIP |
| That John Meyer was a close friend is a bit surprising. |

Cause of death released. He died from a brain bleed after hitting his head. Went to sleep and didn't wake up. No drugs. No alcohol.

Except Natasha had a skiing accident. What did he hit the back of his head on? Something in the bathroom? |
