IRS counsel? This is what we were told. I am getting full remote unsolicited contacts from private sector jobs. Good luck to them if they want people in 3 days like our old contract.

Yes, IRS Counsel.

Return to office doesn’t immediately mean behinds in chairs 5 days a week for the majority, does it? Why are people getting so worked up about this?

IRS non-Counsel. We have been told that there are no plans in place yet. There is a weekly call on the matter but nothing has been decided. We will get 30 days notice to come back. We were 4 days a week at home before Covid so some are hoping it goes fully virtual.

Like for real - what do get out of not listing the name of the agency? Useless information.

? What would you do with that info?

Keep informed of the different agency timetables. Now with the earliest State return of Jan. 3rd, the earliest USAID return is Feb. 3rd.

It will all change in coming weeks though. I wouldn’t take these dates seriously.

Do you mind sharing which agency this is?

Wait did USAID change to Feb 3? I think if at it was mid January.

we already know the reasons for coming back to the office will be bogus. Once leadership has made the determination it will happen regardless of all our hoopla. So three options:

1) get your mind right to return
2) find another agency that is allowing more flexibility, or
3) resign from federal service and find a job in another sector that will allow for 100 percent virtual work

a 4th option for those eligible--retire!

Sure, and the bolded is what we're doing in this thread. People want to know which agencies are allowing more telework so they can either pursue or avoid those jobs. It's not hoopla, it's information sharing.

I hope the Social Security offices open soon. No one ever answers the phone. I need a face to face appointment.

The number of post complaining and whining about lack of flexibility well outweighs the general info sharing on which agencies are flexible. The latter seems to be an afterthought. Folks rarely say which agency they are complaining about. and the folks that have this amazing flexibility don't often say which agency they are from. most agencies listed are ones that made the bold statement to bring folks back within the first three months of 2022.

Yes it is.

Well, maybe for you? Ours was supposed to start transitioning people back in January starting with supervisors but I know zero people who have actually received the 30-day notice yet. Which makes me think they are waffling.

yes, the absence of the notice might suggest that.

EPA just announced many vacancies for HR specialist position. It's full-time telework and a GS5-7 job, lol.

I went in to my office for computer help today and was probably exposed to COVID. Just got an email about a case 5-6 days ago that was around the people I was around today. As a fed masks are still required but no one was wearing one but me.

Personally I don’t care because I am young and healthy, but I’ll absolutely be submitting a workers comp claim and milking sick leave if I get COVID. My biggest fear is spreading to older family this weekend. And of fcking course at home rapid tests can’t be reimbursed til sometime in January.
