Proof? Show us that schedule? The results? Where is this all posted? |
That's pretty much true. However they weren't all on a DA team at that age - there are top players outside these teams and obviously not every player on those teams is a top player. More importantly coaching matters for player development. Exactly which top players eventually get to DCU is definitely impacted by the quality of coaching they receive between 12 and 15. |
| SYC MLS Next parent. This “program” is not what was pitched to us. The practices have been the same, the competition has been much better than us, and it’s really becoming clear that we’re not even a feeder team to DC United. There has been no exposure, and having talked to some parents from out of state MLS Next clubs here (non MLS academies), we’re not doing several basic level elements of development. This “philosophy” of “play all the time” is a joke. Our teams are slower, less technical, and less intelligent than our opponents. |
| Continuing… if was the SYC coach that keeps saying “our younger teams are good” that’s not true. It’s the style that is SYC that these coaches brought from LMVSC. Run and gun until the other team gets better. Usually about U14 to U15. If there’s no leadership change, we are done. |
Leave the club. Every year on these boards there is a parent like you. Just leave the club! After a while people just get tired of the constant whining. Nobody cares. You’re unhappy, we get it, but it was your decision to join SYC and it is your decision to stay. You can leave and shut up at the same time. |
It's not hard to find. Use this link https://www.mlssoccer.com/mlsnext/standings/2021-2022/u15_mls-next-standings and scroll down. You wll notice that the bottom four divisions are all MLS only. If you scroll down to the Boys U15 East (North) division and expand the list under DCU, you will see that they have played games against Charlotte, Atlanta, Orlando, Nashville, NYCFC, PU, New England, and have further games scheduled against NYRB, Toronto, Montreal, New England, NYCFC, PU, Montreal, and Miami. The same is true for the U17s. Since there are no MLS teams in the U19 age bracket and only DCU fields a U16 team this is really not all that different from ECNL and ECNL-R. Also the best eleven players start all these games. Against the non MLS clubs, DCU (and I assume the other MLS clubs too) typically plays most of the game with its top players on the bench. And at the current showcase the U15 and U17 MLS teams are playing an entirely separate tournament. There are very few MLS U16 teams and no U19 teams, so in effect there are two separate competitions going on - one for MLS and the other for non-MLS teams. |
Parents don’t shill for the club. They may disagree but often times they’ll find commonalities and offer a different opinion. These defense “then just leave” immediate responses are from club personnel. Honestly, EM. You, HG, JO, and the rest need to focus on improving this embarrassment of a “program” instead of trying to recruit your way to success. You’ll never be Arlington, and at this rate you’ll never even be Alexandria. VDA and McLean are miles beyond you. |
I’m suggesting and have suggested that you leave. You’re unhappy. Leave. Nobody will care. You’re wasting way to much energy and emotion on this. LEAVE!!! Move on with your life. |
| Wow. SYC paid employees live on this site |
Someone is really hurt that Sally didn't make the top team |
| Can this person explain why SYC stopped posting scores to their MLS Next games? |
Because the fall season is over 🤷♂️ |
Their fall season ended back in September?
|
| How is the Samba Boyz's national schedule going so far? We know they were below average in the Texas tournament. What else is happening with that crew? |
I'm sure they are busy telling us how it's a big deal their 3v3 teams are dOmiNaTiNg games as their 11v11 MLS Next teams are all getting embarrased in MLS Next. |
