Why does SYC post their previous players at Radford and other small colleges, but they never post about a previous (now U16 player) playing in a Spanish club academy? EM is the social media director, and he was lead coach for the 2006 age group. DS is in that group, and I know this player was never given a chance. I guess he just doesn’t have “the look”.
Seeing how MLS Next is going (especially his previous 2006 team), I’m sure EM regrets that. |

You are so bitter. Didn't you post about this a couple weeks ago?
You should find something else to worry about. |
Hi coach, yes definitely bitter because EM lied about everything to us. Thank you for the ad hominem, I see you chose that since you can’t counter the substance of this thread. |
Having seen SYC play, it’s good the kid left. Maybe he’ll have a future outside of non-Power 5 colleges |
Interesting observation. He's doing the same thing for VA Union. He posts several times per day it seems like about McLean alumni playing in college, while ignoring the current players at the club. |
So if you were writing it what would this post about this kid say? |
OP: that the social media director has been ruining the development and path for dozens of players. Cares more about hurting his previous employer than he does about fulfilling his promises he laid here. |
I think having a social media director itself is a bigger problem, as is caring about what they are doing or not doing w/r/t your kid. But to each his own. |
Ok I'll bite who is this kid since the parents want so much recognition |
Will not doxx. A 2006 previous SYC player who was routinely rejected playing on, even training in, the “first” team |
|
Letting a soccer coach influence social media makes exactly as much sense as letting a marketing major influence technical/coaching decisions.
They will ape what they see from other clubs with no background knowledge of or regard for what is measurably effective. Total mismanagement. |
It’s worse than it seems |
Has VA Union posted their college list? They have a lot of great players and no my kid is not on their team. |
| MLS Next combined goal differential for SYC looks to be -44. Need to reduce MLS Next the club presence in Northern VA. Best SYC players should be feeding into DC United or developing at Alexandria. |
My friend, the players that SYC would consider the best would not have the skill set or mentality to survive at Alexandria--and, to a large extent, vice versa. These two clubs are probably the prime examples of vastly different philosophies. Regarding the OP: you say a Spanish "academy." Are you talking about the academy of a La Liga club? Because every town in Spain has, probably several academies with great coaching and pretty good players. And I don't understand, in any case, why SYC would want to brag on social media about a player leaving them. |
