If you're in Arlington then my school isn't far from yours. There are only 2 divisions contiguous to APS. I am in one of them. What's happening in our school is coming soon to you ... ![]() |
PP here. I actually wrote an email to my pediatrician because the advice seemed so dangerous. They clarified it only if age appropriate and absolutely not for pre-k or elementary. |
I do not believe there is a single school in this area that could have 1/4 of the student population out without people screaming about it all over this board and perhaps the local news |
Please pull your head out of the sand. They aren't reported absent if they log in through Teams or Zoom. And most of the parents are so desperate to keep their kids in 5-day in-person school that they won't say anything. School is childcare, you know. |
Baloney. |
I don't believe there is a local jurisdiction with 25 per cent of its student population not physically present in school. |
So 25 percent of kids are not showing up to school but are logging in via Teams (which isn’t offered as an option but ok) and being counted as present.
And no one has noticed. And while Delta is declining, this will soon be coming for us too if it’s not already happening. Is that a fair summation of what you are saying? |
25 to 33 percent of kids are out in Fairfax or Alexandria and no one has noticed or connected the dots to expose this. Huh. |
if you wear a mask in your car or outdoors then big LoL
Also, if you want endless masking for children then I wish a slow and painful death |
LOL. You wrote an email to your pediatrician on Sunday morning and he or she responded within hours to tell you that masks are "so dangerous"??? Really. Tell me a new one. Here is what real doctors, not the imaginary ones in your head, have to say. This is taken straight from the AAP website.
|
Careful. Some of these anti-maskers with bogus “doctor” recommendations may be coming from conservative nut jobs.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/10/01/masks-schools-koch-money/ “A template letter circulated by Independent Women’s Forum offers a glimpse into a well-resourced campaign against public health regulations” “ The document offers a rare glimpse into the inner workings of a well-financed conservative campaign to undermine regulations that health authorities say are necessary to contain the coronavirus.” “ The document flies in the face of recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, whose positions stress the need to account for more dangerous strains of the virus and to protect people too young to receive shots still only authorized for those 12 and older.” |
As a parent I am hoping that masks will prevent a slow and painful death for my kids. I know you're too immature to understand that concept but that's okay. My kids wear masks at school all day long and they're completely fine with it. |
They probably wrote it when the guidance came out |
No one is disputing that many doctors recommend masks. Very few recommend young children eat with their mask on. |
No. The email from pediatrician was weeks ago. I replied immediately and they pointed out that the recommendation was only if developmentally and age appropriate. That caveat was in the actual email but it was such a ludicrous recommendation action for all ages that I wasn’t focused on it. |
