there are current vlc teams that clear as day have these exact same symptoms yet parents were told a few years back to trust the process... and here's the end product. sad. |
Are you referring to ‘22 or ‘23? |
We’ve been told that the younger teams with those problems will improve via player replacement. Yet apparently even that hasn’t happened for this older team. Sad, indeed. |
Follow ‘23 class college placements. Some will be on attack. Don’t judge based on what you read here |
keep your eyes on 23s - not the 20s, 21s or 22s. But PP judgement is 100% accurate for multiple vlc teams and it's in clear view from the sidelines "Offense/Midfield is uninspired and for lack of a better term horseshit. They can't keep possession, they take terrible shots, can't throw and catch, and can't dodge, no movement off ball much less on ball. " |
| Any interesting helmets at VLC tryouts? Someone mentioned they were expecting 100+ kids. |
| 2025 tryout last night was very surprising - hardly any new helmets. A couple of MadLax, Hammers, one NL. Mainly it was existing players. Be interesting to see who comes to the second tryout. |
| I think that while the 22 team has had its issues but it wasn’t the process that was wrong. They got screwed early when they were a combo team with the 23s and never were able to get the few key players that would make the difference. Add to that having a huge chunk of their roster injured and it is all made worse. I agree with the PP the defense and goalie are solid but when the offense is as inefficient as theirs is it makes it hard to really compete. I think they play again this weekend and hope they finish their time at VLC on a higher note but I suspect they’ll once again (as VLC always does) they’ll be playing against the best of the best and let the chips fall where they may. Good luck 22s. Despite all this they will have players playing in college. |
If this post is from the same whimpering 2025 parent then you don’t have a clue. The offense you refer to as horseshit has multiple UA all Americans and NIke and NLF all stars. They made the finals of the IL invitational. The offense is not as strong as one local team but still the best option in Nova. You must not know much about the sport as you don’t know what a good offense looks like. |
Agreed the 23s team is more what VLC expects to have, the 22s team offense is horseshit though that was fair. |
| These are children who are trying their best at a difficult sport. Yet, they are being described in this forum as “horseshit”. My god, these are high school players. Not professionals. Wow. |
stop clutching your pearls. vlc dir will say "that's horseshit" explaining to a 6th grade player what he's been taught not to do and reemphasize the right way to do things. If gone uncorrected, it shows up all over the field. hs kids get more graphic examples but its all good. |
Didn’t a PP say there would be top notch 2025 DC Express and Next Level kids coming over? He must have had bad intel? |
Agreed, not many new players. There was at least one without a club helmet that looked good....be interesting to see if we pick up any new boys. |
Even fewer new helmets tonight. No DCE. |
