The last two times VLC faced NL they won by 4+. If NL played VLC tomorrow and won by 4 they could claim to be better. Who cares about scores in summer events? Leave that to the 2025 parents. VLC teams played in front of lots of college coaches this summer. The ‘23 team will do much better than ‘22 and ‘21 in recruiting and commits this fall. Also the ‘24 team was 3-1.

I think you are right about the recruiting/commits. The 21 and 22 team definitely have some talented players that can play at the next level but as a team neither have achieved much. That coupled with covid inhibiting recruiting and I think those both classes suffered.

no one ever said vlc 23 was better than dc dogs. vlc scoring 3 goals in two of sat games may not have given coaches much to see on offense. good luck to all teams

Actually, on Saturday, the team lost 9-3 in its first game and won its second game 10-4.

0-3 Means they played the 4th place team from another pool.
I don't think they consider that a bracket.

But good for VLC putting them into a tourney with the big boys. Although sometimes it can do more harm than good.

The team they beat 10-4 lost to the team in the finals by one. All games were competitive and college coaches did not keep score. This is not HOCO league. As far as recruiting the tournament was great for these kids. What harm was done?

Not a lot of college coaches staying for the second day of most tournaments. They were out in droves watching the first day matches. College coaches could care less about tournament victories...those are more for club glory than any relationship to college recruiting.

OP - you obviously have no idea how good that team is and has become. Just wait and see where their kids end up.

i have seen them play and sure do hope the college coaches saw them too. waiting and seeing what these coaches do on sept 1st for 23s. good things going on with 22s as well?

OP - you obviously have no idea how good that team is and has become. Just wait and see where their kids end up.

i have seen them play and sure do hope the college coaches saw them too. waiting and seeing what these coaches do on sept 1st for 23s. good things going on with 22s as well?

22's not a much, team has like 10 players injured/out for the entire summer. I think they are just holding on and will have probably only have 6-8 kids playing in college.

I've watched this team at a few events. Defense/goal is solid and does a lot right and would perform well with any squad in front of them. Offense/Midfield is uninspired and for lack of a better term horseshit. They can't keep possession, they take terrible shots, can't throw and catch, and can't dodge, no movement off ball much less on ball. Other than that they are great. If my son were on this defense, I would have left long ago as it ultimately makes them look bad because eventually they make a mistake by trying to overcompensate and give up the goals. They are just a hard team to watch and I am sure the parents of the few kids that are good are frustrated, I've only watched them occasionally but man its painful.
