| I randomly saw a trailer for some Netflix movie called "The Last House" about a family that was legit trapped in their house for over 1,000 days. Got me to thinking about how long we could survive in our house if we couldn't leave but still had electricity and water. We currently have 3 full fridges with attached freezers, plus a chest freezer and a tall freezer. Plus a full pantry and additional excess food in the basement pantry. We are a family of 5. I would think we could make it at least a year? Maybe more if we actually rationed our food. |
| I don’t leave my house for weeks but as long as I can get food and other deliveries I can last forever. |
| I lived without electricity or water for nearly 4 years during the war in the 90s. It was miserable but survivable. A major part of the day was going to get water in another part of the city that had a well. Not sure that any of us are equipped to last more than a month or two without resupplying food. |
You totally missed the point. |
Amazing you lived through that. Kosovo? |
| Humblebrag. Are you Mormon? |

“I got some groceries, some peanut butter,
To last a couple of days.” |
| Are we allowed in the yard? Maybe a year. We grow fruits and veg and have chickens |
| I live in a small apartment. I will run out of food in a week, medicine in two months at most, and toiletries within about four months. |

Wt..? Why? |

What happens to all of the food in the fridges and freezers when you lose power? |
| We probably would run out of food in a few weeks. |
|
Give me one trip to Costco to prep and I can make it indefinitely.
Today? Umm...a month. With running ater, maybe 4 months. |
OP here - we have a natural gas generator. So it will do until the natural gas goes out. Whole house generator. |
