sick of elder gen x cousing

My cousin is what I call elder Gen X. The whole "I had it tough so you can do it and I'm so sick of millenial parents and gentle parenting". HEr kids can't stand her, two of her young adult kids are failure to launch, and she can't do anything for herself. Just venting. I'm so sick of this group of genxers who think they have endured so much so everyone else will be fine. meanwhile they all have undiagnosed mental health issues and have horrible relationships with their kids. ugh.

Me too. Gen X is worse than boomers. They think their failure to launch kids are lazy, but it’s 2026, not 1986. Kids don’t move out until their 30s now.

OP here. I am Gen X and I realize bashing myself. I only brought up Gen X label because my cousin uses it all the time to hurl insults at others.

Well your cousin is using it wrong so leave Gen X out of it. Your cousin thinks they had a tough upbringing and wants to play that card in every convo. There's one of those (well a bunch) in every generation! The rest of us in Gen X just did our best and kept it real.
