Rand Paul Supporters Assault MoveOn.com Member

Outside the Paul-Conway debate last night, supporters of Rand Paul attacked a MoveOn.com member, threw her to the ground and stepped on her head. Paul hates government and would seem to want to return us all to a state of nature. Welcome to survival of the fittest, Tea Party style:

Of douse she planned on provoking them. She was a protester. That doesn't mean she should be assaulted.

I was glad to see her talking after the assault - the violence was hard to watch. Of course, on the WaPo comments section, there are those who are saying that this is no big deal and that while he's stepping on her, he's hardly stomping.

I saw this earlier today and found it horrifying. Do the police plan to charge the men who assaulted her? I mean, it's assault and it's on video. Surely they're pressing charges.

Nice, but FAILED attempt at deflection. The biter in California was never identified. Therefore, you don't know if he was a liberal or a maniac. Moreover, the other guy's finger was in the biter's mouth because the guy tried to punch him and had already punched someone else.

The Rand Paul situation was a mob of his supporters. That head-stomper has been identified as Tim Profitt, the Bourbon County coordinator for Paul's campaign. The victim suffered a concussion and a sprained shoulder. Profitt has just been summoned to court and is likely in pretty big trouble.

Profitt has been served with a criminal summons - he says that the camera angle makes it look worse than it was, and that this was the police's fault for not stepping in sooner.

Creepy video - you can see five really big guys surrounding her and taking her down, and then Profitt attacking her while she is being held down. Coward!
