| Please give some advice on what to ask for the first time I walk into a cannabis dispensary. What is a good starter? I haven’t smoked pot in 30 years since college days before a military career and thinking about experimenting again for relaxation. I’m thinking gummies is a good start but would like to know what to ask for. |
|
I work in the cannabis industry on the legal side. Ask the people who work there. They will give you one thing for pain from an injury, another for arthritic pain, yet another to stimulate appetite, another for relaxation. They will also talk with you about how much/little when you're first starting out.
The people who work there are very knowledgeable- go up to someone older rather than a guy in their early 20's. |
| Don’t start. Treat your body better. |
And what medical training do they have for all this? |
| I'm in my 50s and find the gummies with CBD and low THC useful. But you can ask the employees at a dispensary. Tell them what your looking for. Do you want to get stoned stoned? They can help with that. Do you want something to help with some muscle soreness and insomnia? They can help with that too. There are so many varieties of gummies these days. |
| Don’t. They’re extremely strong and caused my friend to have a psychotic break from reality. |
It's not rocket science- they don't need medical training. |
|
Get something with more CBD than THC, and don’t take a whole dose at once. If you get gummies, you can easily cut them into quarters.
The THC is stronger than when we were kids, and your body will almost certainly respond differently at your age. Low and slow, OP. Low and slow. |
THIS is the best advice you will get. Just DON’T. |
My friend gave me a quarter of one (so like the size of a pencil eraser) and I still ended up on my kitchen floor eating ice cream. I just wanted a good night’s sleep! Not doing it again. |
| Gummies are strong and hard to gauge how you’ll react. Get a vape and take 1-2 hits. |
| So do you all get this entered into your medical chart to be sure that this drug doesn't interfere with all your RX meds? |
| Do you have to give your real name or anything to buy these? |
You have to show ID, but pay cash. |
You definitely should. It’s essential to get this in your chart before using or asap- illicit drugs, supplements, herbal remedies- they can interact with Rx meds or each other. It can be serious. |
