Sure seems Trump and GOP think it's going to be Gretchen Whitmer.

Kellyanne Conway: "The Governor of Michigan should receive one of those absentee ballot applications because she's very busy auditioning for the next job as Biden's VP when she's denying so many Michiganders to go back to their own job."

We need someone YOUNGER.

I don't think she helps with any needed demographics either.

Why do Rs think doing a competent job in government is “auditioning” for Biden? It’s like they don’t even know how government is supposed to work.

Oh they know all right. They're just amping up the rhetoric. It will be vicious, and it's just getting started.

She helps with swing Midwest states, like Michigan (her own state), Minnesota and Wisconsin, all of which were close in 2016.
Michigan. Trump won by 0.23% (11K votes out of 4.5M)
Minnesota- Clinton won by 1.52% (45K votes out of 2.7M)
Wisconsin - Trump won by 0.77% (27K votes out of 2.8M)

Less than 2% of the votes and 36 electoral votes (16 MI, 10 MN, 10 WI). Trump won the electoral vote by 34 votes.

Oops...yes, sorry. I was conflating two different threads within this topic. That is Whitmer.

Yeah, I think she'd appeal to suburban moms and is pretty appealing just broadly. Calm and competent in a crisis, well spoken, smart without condescension, ability to relate to the "other side." Wonder how she polls with the African-American community in MI.

The only real answer is Cuomo. Bring in the governor of the moment and Trump will lose.

ITD. Cuomo has botched it...laughed at California’s shelter in place on March 16th

Fox is clearly terrified he will suddenly and inexplicably be the nom. They are pushing the nursing home narrative so hard.
Gotta give it to fox and Conservatives in general. They can draw such easy short lines. NYC is a failure because they have the most deaths. Short and sweet. Nuance is a killer. Obama was always able to make a short and sweet point.
Dems need more of that.
