+ 1000 that will happen. |
If you don't live in Travilah, but still zoned for Wootton, what do you think will happen if 2 schools are moved out? Fields Rd will come in and from what you all have posted you do not want Fields Rd since your strong cohort will be diluted. |
Wonderful. Do that. I would be all for it. Personally, I believe in common sense boundary proposals. Go to the school that is closest to where you live. It’s not that hard. What I am not okay with is closing down a school illegally. |
Fields School would go to Crown? They live in walkable distance. That’s what they are all up in arms about—rightfully so. |
No plausible legal complaint has been provided. |
Look at the original A-D. Whenever Dufief and Travilah got moved out, it was Churchill cluster schools—not QO or Gaithersburg cluster schools—that got moved into Wootton. (Wayside ES and Potomac ES, specifically were possibilities). Then Churchill cluster threatened lawsuits, and BOE decided to recommend E-H. |
That you know of lol. Do you expect the legal notice to be delivered to you personally at your home address instead of the BOE, Taylor, and OGC? |
Then some other school from Rockville will be with Wootton - I am not too familiar with the Rockville cluster but I take it they are not as academically strong as Wootton. |
Give us back Horizon Hill. They are walkable to Wootton. They belong in the cluster. |
I'm curious how a school cluster can threaten lawsuits when the whole county is being rezoned? I can understand with lawsuits for moving an entire school to a different location, but lawsuits for rezoning? Even if they did go through, I'm sure they will lose. |
I cannot speak to Churchill’s lawsuits, but they had enough merit to get MCPS to back off. The Wootton lawsuit has even more merit. |
Ha ha, I take it you are zoned for RHS and you would rather go to Wootton. Does Wootton want your school? Not familiar with that part of the county. |
My guess - MCPS thought Wootton would keep quiet and take the offer but since the noise is more, they will have to go back to consider the rezoning of all schools affected by the Crown study. |
No, I’m zoned for Wootton in one of the walkable neighborhoods. Not Dufief or Travilah. I rather take Horizon Hill—a walkable neighborhood—moving into the Wootton cluster over busing all of our kids to Crown. RMHS is overcrowded. HH should never have been moved out. They were historically a Wootton community. If a cluster like Dufief or Travilah has to leave for common sense reasons like geographic proximity, I would love to have HH back! |
Yup—precisely. They thought they can bully Wootton. FAFO. |
