There are no flights out MAGA

Maybe US needs to take control of Donbask International Airport like we did in Kabul?

Stefanik would say anything to be relevant.

Starting with the claim that she has roots in the North Country.

How did she get into Harvard?

Honest question.

She needs to release her test scores and transcript

No. Just no. Look at history, and apply it to what would happen if we took in a bunch of Ukrainians.

In 1959 the people of Cuba overthrew the fascist Batista regime. Tens of thousands of Cuban elites and capitalist kleptocrats fled Cuba, most going to south Florida. Their descendants are STILL voting republican today. They are responsible for Florida still being a red state. They grew up their whole lives being brainwashed about how JFK and Democrats let Castro take over the country and caused their parents of grandparents to flee for their lives. And they’re still holding a grudge and keeping republicans in power over that.

Now extrapolate that to potentially millions of Ukrainian refugees coming here. They would settle here, have children, and brainwash them about how President Biden and Democrats let Russians take their country from them. Those kids would end up just like the successive generations of Cubans who are hard-core GOP’rs. And there would be far more of them, and they would be highly politically motivated to continue to punish Dems in America. This will affect the Democrats for generations if we take in a bunch of Ukrainians who wouldn’t fight for their own country when Russia attacked them.

We cannot admit Ukrainian refugees. It would be an unmitigated political disaster within 20 years.

You are not seriously referring to Stefanik as traitor for saying Biden has not done enough? (if you were in Russia and someone said that or anything critical about Putin they would be considered a traitor but that is not how US works.)

Hope this is true and continues happening.

That would be a truly special Russian military operation.

I feel bad for those soldiers, the are dead men whenever this finally ends

If they really did surrender without harming anyone, they could have a chance at refugee status elsewhere.

But it will not end well for their families back in Russia. Putin will make an example of them.

You're assuming that whoever is holding them won't be overrun by Russian troops. They are either dead or looking forward to a future in a Siberian prison

When did Biden say the US would not take Ukrainian refugees?

US embassy in Kyiv seized issuing any visas to Ukrainians several month ago. The air space over Ukraine is shut down now completely. How exactly he is planning to take refugees? By boats through Atlantic?

I suppose. Anything's possible. Maybe Russian troops from Chernobyl will save these poor soldiers?

You’re an idiot if you don’t understand what Trump is saying. Putin IS SMART. That doesn’t mean he’s not diabolical. Trump’s saying, “Of course he planned this and is taking advantage of Biden!!” Somehow you guys never see the second half of what Trump said last week: “No, but think of it. Here’s a guy who’s very savvy,' Trump went on. 'I know him very well. Very, very, very well. Had I been in office, not even thinkable, this never would have happened.” Trump understands Putin, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t see him is as evil
or the enemy. I’m shocked that so many people are so dumb and see things on such a childish level. Yes, you can be SMART and BAD
.

Then why the hell isn't Trump making the clarification that he means Putin is a BAD boy?

Probably because *checks notes* Trump loves bad boys. Ergo, you are wrong and intellectually lazy. [/quote

Seriously. PP, don't install those goalposts with cement, you're just going to have to move them when Trump says something even stupider in the next few days.

Trump is trolling Biden. Just like when he questioned lack of comment from Biden til this afternoon. What time does Biden wake up in the morning when Russia is ignoring US/EU/NATO/Ukraine/South Korea ... and starting a very special non war?

IDFC. That makes it even worse! A former president is trolling a sitting president who is trying to navigate a war and save lives. SMH.

DP. There's no positive way to spin that statement from Stefanik.

PP nailed it.

No confirmation yet from Russia’s military

Did Nixon ream Kennedy over Vietnam?
Did Clinton call out W over 9/11?

What precedent is there for ranks not closing behind a US president in a time like this?
