I get that Trone has a lot of money. But does he just completely lack political sensibilities?

His anti-Trump ads are everywhere as he tries to primary his opponent. The whole knock on Democrats is they need to be more than just against Trump. The need a clear agenda of what they are FOR. But here’s Trone, preaching to the choir in Maryland about how awful Trump is.

I don’t get it. Seems like a waste of money to run a terrible campaign. After losing the Senate race you’d think he would have learned something.

I lived in Silver Spring when he was running in the primary against Raskin and his absolute blanketing of the area with flyers just made everybody mad. He thinks he can just spend a ton of money and doesn't realize how much it backfires.

With his wealth, I assume that all his ads are carefully poll tested. But it does seem like he could use more variety in his messaging. I don't watch much TV and it feels like I've seen the same two ads way too much.

It’s so frustrating to have him saying he just wants to help people while he spends millions on campaigns yet my kid’s school can’t afford snacks and has non potable water in the drinking fountains.

If you wanted to help, give money to schools and other places that need it. This is vanity and desire for power.

His ads are attacking Democrats for doing nothing, yet I haven't heard him articulate exactly
-what average people who oppose Trump should be doing.
-what Democrats in Congress who oppose Trump should be doing.
-what he personally is doing right now to fight Trump policies.
-what he proposes he will do if elected to stop Trump policies.

I would campaign for, donate to, and vote for anyone who can do this. I am so tired of feeling like there is nothing to do other than wave some signs at No Kings protests.

I don't understand how he'd be any different than Delaney, another rich moderate Dem. (She ran on a "common ground" platform and I think has tried to compromise as much as possible, but has moved left as the administration has become more extreme and violent.)

He’s running for the 6th district against April Delaney.

The district comprises all of Garrett, Allegany, Frederick, and Washington counties.

He just needs to be a white male to get much of the vote and nobody takes the R candidates seriously not even in those counties.

He needs to make it clear he hates the pedophiles in office.

There is nothing here about doing anything other than fighting Trump, which is exactly OP's point. What are you going to do for people to improve their lives, economic circumstances and future of their kids? What will you ever do without Trump, you literally depend on him to exist to win or have any agenda

You know nothing about these counties, do you? Frederick County is not the poduck you think it is. Both Alsobrooks and April won the votes last time even though David was running.

My impression of Trone — when he was running in Montgomery County a few years ago — is that he’s really a Republican, but recognized that being a Republican wouldn’t get him many votes. I was very much not impressed by his lack of platform, or when I met him briefly at a community event. He’s spending a LOT of money on his political aspirations— to the point where I’m wondering what he’s really after, since service to the community doesn’t / didn’t seem to be it.

Like half of Montgomery County is in this district which dwarfs the population of Garrett/Allegany/Washington Counties. Frederick is about 50/50. I don’t love Trone but April Delaney has been absolutely invisible since she won.
