This is the last work session before the final vote on March 26 |
| Thx for posting |

Karla's resolution was weird. Asking for additional time and input at this stage, and doing so right before the final vote, seemed like a ploy to tell prospective voters that she fought for their voice, even though she knew it was unrealistic and wouldn't really yield new perspective that the board hasn't already heard. Julie joining her in solidarity in that vote seemed aligned with her being able to make a similar argument to voters in her County Council race.
Rita's sharpness and hostility toward Karla about when Karla intended to have the additional engagement meeting was really pointed. Those two really don't like each other at all. |
Telling everyone I know not to vote for these two fools |
It also made it obvious Karla wasn't really trying to get the resolution passed, but just that she wanted to look like she was. If Karla was really trying to pass it, she wouldn't have surprised other Board members with it at the work session-- she would have reached out earlier to build support. (I don't blame Rita for being annoyed for being blindsided with it, honestly.) |
|
And then Julie Yang introducing her resolution without providing copies for the board members before she read her resolution was crazy sloppy. And board staff were shouting "we're working on it."
What the hell is going on here? This is unprofessional. This is why the BOE needs to be full-time and professionalized. But like Karla, Julie's resolution to have Travilah and Stone Mill articulate to Cabin John was purely air cover for her race on the County Council. |
|
While Karla and Julie may have been being performative, Rita and Brenda have some nerve saying that enough engagement has been done when they don't even bother attending meetings in person.
I'm glad Brenda is leaving (she should leave now, since she managed to screw up so many things) and will not vote for Rita in the future. They are useless. |
| Agree that Yang and Silvestre just trying to bolt for County Council. I am glad they will be gone from BOE and hope we don’t need to deal with them on the Council. |
| Oh, more context on Julie's motives. She just admitted that her resolution is also to preserve the Chinese immersion program, which she obviously owes to her Chinese-American community as a Chinese-American herself. |
Disagree. There can so much engagement I am sick of it. Rita and Brenda were the adults in the room today. Yang and Silvestre are full on polticians now. |
Those of us who follow school board activities have to make sure we tell all of our friends and neighbors to say no to Karla and Julie. Otherwise, people assume they're good candidates because they served on the school board. |
Sorry typo: *There has been so much engagement |
Oh I will. Time to donate to competitors. |
| Can’t wait for Farmland and Luxmanor to cry. |
