| Democrats need to rip their playbook up and start using republicans own actions against them. Don’t do this when they go low we go high bullsh%t. When they go low let’s go lower. Do everything they have done back to them 10 fold. |
|
3 reasons:
1) Democrats are not monolithic like the Repugs. Too many factions fighting with each other. 2) Media machine is largely controlled by the right-wing. 3) They simply don’t have the b@lls to do this. |
| What specifically are you referring to, OP? |
Number 3 is critical. Fox and the bro-sphere podcasts provide an entire worldview that can justify any debacle or atrocity for Republicans. Democrats have various left wing media outlets but they are small and ineffective compared to the right. |
| Two wrongs don't make a right, op. |
This, and it’s why democrats always seem to be on the losing side, because they aren’t willing to be immoral and blatantly break laws (and they shouldn’t). We’re not even dealing with traditional Republicans vs Democrats now, it’s insurrectionists/domestic terrorists vs everyone else who supports following the Constitution. |
This. If Democrats try to go as low as Republicans, or even lower, then people might as well vote Republican. The whole point is to provide a BETTER choice for the country. People like to think of politics as a linear spectrum, but I think it’s more of a circle. In practice, there really isn’t much difference between a right-wing dictatorship and a left-wing dictatorship. In both cases, those in power really only care about preserving their power and benefitting from it. Whatever ideology they may have preached to attract the necessary followers to obtain power was important only as a tool to use for their true purpose, themselves. Make no mistake, countering a Republican tyrant with a Democratic tyrant will not turn tyranny into a Utopia. Moreover, all who think to benefit from allying with a tyrant should remember that historically, as power turns paranoid, those who were early allies in achieving power are often perceived as threats to maintaining power, and consequently at risk of being purged. |
| I will say that the democrats fighting back on redistricting has been glorious to watch. Even if gerrymandering should be illegal. |
| And kill people? Really? |
|
I was raised by vote blue no matter who people-
What I surmise is leaders of Democratic Party lost touch with the people. We don’t care about environmental shit and we don’t care about LGBTQ issues. What we do care about is being able to live out our own American dreams in real life. The Democratic Party chose to pander and platform the wrong people. Don’t get me wrong- I hate Trump. But I also didn’t vote for KH. |
| Like commit crimes and break accepted norms of decent people? |
| Join the bandwagon, OP. Gavin Newsom has been leading the way. I don't like him and I am less and less inclined to support him as a potential nominee, but I love how he gets under Trump's skin. |
No, #3 is they have the values not to do this. |
I totally disagree. The Democrats I know care very much about the environment and rights for everyone. LGBTQ issues took center stage because Republicans put them there to rile up their own base. If anyone expected Democrats to agree with Republicans that not all people have the same human rights, then that person doesn't understand the party. |
This. Different value system. (Thank goodness! It would be a completely miserable world if we all thought like Trump and his minions.) |
