College placements

Did Brearley’s college placement went down the hill since past year? I know many left after college counselling was teared down. Trinity,Dalton, Spence is showing up consistently even Chapin this year.

Don’t know about Brearley so don’t know how they’re performing this year, but Nightingale seems to be doing great. Last year the jump between Chapin and Nightingale was stark, this year the gap is smaller.

Insta results dont have a denominator. You can eyeball them if you want but that is subjective.

Not hard to do the math if you know roughly how many kids in a grade (very easy to find), especially at smaller schools. Agreed that they should be taken with a grain of salt but they are definitely helpful.

Though at some point if you spend too much time looking at these you a) really need a life, and b) are likely splitting hairs.

Neither has Dalton. Both schools post in the spring if you look at last year’s accounts.

HM doesn’t even allow these accounts. HM’s college placements have gone down the drain - I remember they used to do crazy well and their placements at ivies basically tanked which caused an uproar.

This seems completely made up. Horace Mann’s college placements have really faltered in the last few years

They don’t want to cause stress among the students still waiting? As far as I can tell the school is very focused on reducing one up-manship. People need to get a grip

A few years ago they sent a ridiculous number of kids to Chicago. Which is a very good school. But it just seemed odd. If you thought you were getting Ivy and you got Chicago you probably aren't thrilled. If it is second tier kids getting Chicago then it is much more OK.
