Yeah, Trinity is the only TT that doesn't do give you any numbers, just the schools kids to which kids matriculated (not sure why). Most give you the list for the past 3-5 years, though some like HM and Spence don't give the full list, just destinations with most students attending: https://www.dalton.org/learning/college-counseling https://www.horacemann.org/academic-life/college-counseling https://www.trinityschoolnyc.org/our-programs/college-counseling/matriculation https://www.brearley.org/college-advising/ https://www.chapin.edu/academics/upper-school/college-guidance/college-matriculation-list https://www.spenceschool.org/academic-program/college-counseling https://www.collegiateschool.org/academics/college-guidance |

Spence gives the full list - the college counseling page has got a link to "Comprehensive Five-Year Matriculation List".
Trinity has never given full details. They may be thinking that "people will apply to them anyway" but I personally view it as complacency on their side. At the same time, Trinity will never care about opinions of individual parents so it is what it is... |
Last year the three started posting in the spring. |
Spence gives the comprehensive 5 year list. You just need to scroll dow. |
Yeah, I just missed it. Its my first day on the internet lol |

The word "placement" is ill used here. Students decide whehre they wnat apply, colleges decide who htey wnat to take, and studnetd deice among hte offers they get based ona all kids of decisions.
High schools are not "placing" students in colleges. |

Here's a recent analysis of top placements from NYC privates (don't know how accurate):
https://school.chicardgo.com/nycprivate/blog/ |
does this person site their sources? I can't find it. I hope they're not just going by the Insta posts |
The percentages look right-ish for me for the schools we looked into, but I could easily imagine that the few places that don't actually share detailed data are getting better numbers than they deserve due to relying on Instagram. Also "Ivy+" is a weird category because it means that your HYP matriculations are buried beneath a sea of Cornell/Penn ones. In general my takeaway from this data would be that the gap between TT/2T/3T is small enough that it can very easily be explained by who applies rather than any secret formula on the school's side; it's not at all hard to imagine that the difference between the percentage of Trinity's class that are rich/famous/connected and the percentage of UNIS' that is is greater than 14%. |
So would you say at least within TT there is no reason at all to choose between, say Trinity/Brearley and Horace Mann based on exmissions, even if the latter looks a bit weaker, b/c legacies make the numbers fuzzy, and fit trumps whatever difference remains? |
Assume they are because it’s not correct. We don’t really need an “analysis” like this based on incomplete data when most of the schools post their results on their websites. |
| I didnt do it exactly Chicardgo's way but I dont get that Chapin is anywhere near as close as their outcome is to Brearley & Spence. |
Sacred Heart above Horace Mann and Dalton also seems….suspect, to say the least |
In which direction? |
Ah nvm, misread |
