| How will the new school boundary change from Water Johnson HS to the new Woodward HS effect neighborhoods like Old Farm and Lux Manor? Will it change the property values or culture? |
| The demand might slow down slightly in my opinion because of the “devil you know is better than the angel you don’t know”. |
Woodward will be a vastly different school than WJ. Downward pressure will be there for sure. No one will pay the same price for attending WJ and Woodward if other things are equal. |
I just don't believe it. Woodward will be a fine school! |
Yes, fine but far below WJ. RM without magnet is fine school as well and based on all options of boudaries, Woodward will be same as RM without magnet. |
| How much less will houses located in the Woodward school boundary be lowered? Is this priced in yet? |
WHy? it will be luxmanor kids. Better than Ashburton kids. |
Seriously? These are kids and they are all wonderful. Jeez. |
|
Idk how anyone with a family affords to buy a house in the WJ cluster as it is.
I think WJ becomes Whitman 2.0 and Woodward is most likely today’s WJ (diverse, smart, hardworking, nice kids). |
Woodward = Current WJ < New WJ |
|
I think the question is whether the houses in the new WJ cluster will appreciate at a faster rate than they do today in the current WJ cluster.
We will have to wait and see. |
I don't think so. Woodward will be great. Diverse but not overwhelmed with needs. New building to boot. |
| I think Woodward will be great. I understand why people are worried about change and wanted to stay in WJ and avoid the uncertainty of a new school but Woodward will be very desirable. |
With the high FARMS and the art magnet, it will be an okay school—but not as desirable as WJ is today. We live in Old Farm, so our youngest will be able to finish at WJ, but knowing what we know now, we wouldn’t buy in this neighborhood given the Woodward change. |
What are you basing your opinion on? Could you elaborate? All the facts and numbers say the opposite. High FARMS, limited class offerings(art magnet), new construction apartments/townhouses in the area which are not factored in but will overcrowd it eventually) I don't see a single positive. Enlighten me? Tilden family here, and we are seriously considering to move. |
