| Have you been out since Saturday? Is your car clear? Your street clear? Any plans to drive anywhere yet? |
| We have a dog, so it's out in all weather at least 3 times a day anyway. I cleared the driveway, DH did the sidewalk, DD built a fort. We all went for walks across two neighborhoods. DH walked to various grocery stores. We have not yet used our car, since schools and activities are canceled and we can work from home. |
| ^ neighborhood streets are clear, sidewalks less so, and there are slush and ice mountains to clamber at every street crossing. This is close to downtown Bethesda. |
| Several times. I've had a couple doctor's appointments and went to the grocery store. |
I assumed most Offices cancelled the appointments at least mon and Tuesday. |
| I am still allowed to work from home but have been to the gym and stores. No problem |
Maybe. I had an urgent need and got an appointment Tuesday. The staff was thin, but they saw me. |
| My cars clear I cleaned it off but the parking lots untouched so I can't get out. Main roads look clear but only one lane.its insanely cold out tried to walk around the block and made one lap too cold. Besides that been inside since Saturday. Its boring. Did a little decluttering. Don't have much to watch open to suggestions please. |
Yes been out a few times for medical appointments and to the closest metro station. Streets are passable but far from normal. Main roads are clear but the right lanes in parts is only 3/4 clear. The side streets are one way and still have patches of snow, ice or slush depending on time of day. Turns are tight. There are a lot of unshoveled sidewalks, so some pedestrians are walking in the street, and also trying to climb over mounds of ice at intersections. Parking lots are challenging. Fewer spots because of piled up snow and also lots of ice or slush, again depending on time of day. Drive slow, allow extra time to drive or park and wear boots with good traction. And bundle up! It's cold out there. |
| Have not stepped off my own property since Saturday. |
| I've been out everyday since Monday morning. The only time I got in trouble was Monday morning - my Subaru got stuck three times in neighborhood streets. Tuesday, Wednesday, and today, no problems at all. |
What have you been doing? Are you bored? |
+1. Walked my dog around the property. I cleaned the steps, path and driveway, but there is still so much ice. We've been home since Saturday evening. |

We cleared our long driveway and the car that was covered on Monday morning. Decided to not shovel at all until it was all over, which proved to be the right call. When we went out Monday it was crispy but you could lift off the ice layer and shovel as normal. Even later that afternoon it was much harder. By Tuesday, forget about it. I thought the advice to shovel between snow and sleet was suspect, and I'm glad we did not do that.
We've driven, and we have been comfortable with our teen driving to the local shopping center, which we checked out before we let them go. It's all clear. I am now out of state and getting to the airport was a non issue. But I do understand the issues with the roads and safe walking and bus stops. |
| Cross country skiing and/or sledding every day and drive everywhere since Monday. I'm in downtown Bethesda, and the roads are pretty slippery but I have a 4x4 truck |
