If you live in a $1-3 million house why don’t you shovel your sidewalk

Anonymous
Or pay someone to do it?

Every time it snows so many people living in these huge expensive houses just…don’t bother?

Are you in MoCo? Take a pic of it and report it. They will get fined.

Not oP but we're in Arlington and have the same issue. Arlington "suspended" the ordinace due to the heavy snow/ice making it near impossible to shovel. Pisses me off that some of us were out 5 times yesterday shoveling and others are going to leave it there indefinitely.

We have (and our hired services have) 48 hours after the end of this level of snow event to get the snow up. Chill.

You don’t even have to clear your sidewalk by law in Fairfax County.

Maybe they work a lot overtime. To pay for the house.

I'm in a Bethesda neighborhood with houses that don't cost less than 1.5M. The ones at 1.5M are rundown, old, and small, including mine. We're not spending wildly over here, but did invest in our homes. Only one house in my street paid someone to shovel. Only a third of sidewalks were clear, because a lot of us shoveled on Sunday and then got several inches of sleet. There were lots of people out shoveling today and we will continue tomorrow, mostly to dig our cars out.

I'd rather people not get heart attacks, OP.

I did and the stinking snow ploughs covered the sidewalks in three feet of snow. Good thing cars can drive by.

It’s not that easy to hire people to shovel your snow

Because my back hurts and no teens have been by

1 million is a teardown 3 is an upper middle class

Intense snow shoveling has been associated with exacerbated chronic back pain. It's a well-known phenomenon

Because the professional crew that I hired prioritizes their big commercial clients first (govt buildings, gas stations, etc). They finally made their first pass at 5pm tonight.
At $800 min/pass, I’m not lifting a finger just to clear a walking path for you and your dog.

Instead, I sat in my home office all day making money. Mostly to pay for the snow removal…
