I notice things are getting pretty cold for tomorrow morning. Thankfully not too much wind, but definitely cold. I am seeing 9 degrees at sunrise on wunderground.com
Also, as of Monday afternoon models are feeling out a possible ~10 inches of snow for Saturday and Sunday. |

I’m predicting no delay tomorrow. There’s no precipitation.
Excited for the weekend. Too early to predict closure/delays for next week |
| Next Monday is a teacher/support staff work day so already no school for kids. I doubt there will be a delay for cold - we’ve had similar temperatures and started on time. |
| It’s going to be even colder in the mornings next week. It looks like. |
|
Which way did MCPS overcorrect last time? Whatever they got flack for not doing is what they will do this time.
|
| no |
| No delay for cold temps. Bundle up your kids. |
| No, closures for cold temps should be when it is a lot colder (e.g. below 0 degrees fahrenheit). Closing for 18 degree temps is not necessary. |
I think the question is “might they close”, not “should they close”? I think one thing we can all agree on is that decisions this year have been inconsistent and sometimes questionable. So, while I agree with your sentiment I also think it’s possible that they will delay. |
| Why? There’s no precipitation. |
Buy winter jackets. You can probably get them at a thrift shop for $10-20. |
| No delay tomorrow and school will open 1/27. Tiny chance of a delay next Tuesday if there’s a refreeze. |
Have you been to a thrift store recently? Anything warm enough for 9 deg will either be UN-gently used or $40. Influencers have ruined them for low income people. |
| I wish. |
These temps are not that uncommon. I do not think they will delay. |
